Wonderful. Tue to the spirit of Relais and Chateaux. Grat wining and dining in an authentic riad, close to the Medina yet also accessible by taxi, stay here if you can.

We have just returned from a great week in Morocco where we visited Marrakech for 3 days and stayed at Villa des Orangers. The positioning of the hotel is perfect for being able to get to the souks and the Djemaa el-Fna on foot. The hotel is fantastic with the most amazing service by the staff. The room that he stayed in ,had a staircase to the roof garden and pool and the best was sipping freshly squeezed juice next to the pool in the late afternoon listening to the call of the mullahs to prayer. They arranged a great guide for us, Mustapha Chouquir, who really opened our eyes to the city and its sites. We will be back with our golfing friends in a few years as we noticed so many great courses on the way to the Atlas Mountains. Here we stayed at Richard Bransons Hotel, Kasbah Tamadot. All I can say is that this hotel is really a dream. Set high up in the mountains it has the most spectacular outlook. The whole philosophy of the hotel and staff is of "abundance" and one really wants for nothing. Hiking in the area is great, but do not underestimate the height of these mountains, you need to be fit!

Room Tip: We had a garden suite, but I am sure all the rooms were of equal standard

My wife and I have just returned from this wonderful Riad having spent six nights being looked after in the most splendid and immaculate way.
We are fortunate enoughto have travelled extensively and stayed in some world famous hotels (Burj Al Arab, George V in Paris, The Dorchester etc etc) but in all honesty nothing compares to the Villa Des Orangers. This is for one simple reason - service. Wow! Everything is done with such quiet grace and genuine care it is impossible not to feel valued and like royalty for your entire stay.
The building and facilities are the equal of anything in Marrakech, but the staff stand out above all competitors. Nothing is too much trouble, every act is done with a genuine smile from people who understand and believe in great service.
The Riad is small enough to feel really personal, but not intrusive, yet it has the facilites of much larger Hotels (swimming pools, gym, spa, 24hr room service, FREE laundry and dry cleaning etc). These facilities are to a good standard. The food is divine and half the price of Michelin Star equivalents in the UK.
For complete relaxation this is the very best possible. Amidst the busy streets of Marrakech you close the front doors and you are in a peaceful heaven. No noise, no raised voices, nothing but tranquility and calm. Just amazing!

This was our first trip to Marrakech. We enjoyed Marrakech but loved our Riad. I can't add a lot to what others have already said. The environment, location and staff where amazing. The food was excellent.
The only negative was the guide the staff recommended. We were there for four days and booked a guide with a car for the three days (at $100 a day it made sense we thought). The guide was very knowledgeable but frankly a bit bored and unenthusiastic about his job. It turns out that having a car for all those days did not make sense. Most of the stuff is walking and you can easily get taxis. But I am sure the hotel felt comfortable about the guide and was doing its best to recommend someone they had confidence in.
Our room was wonderful land had a private roof top deck.
Make sure you explore all the public places in the Riad.

Room Tip: We got a tour of a number of rooms. They all seemed wonderful.

We spent 4 days there, I didn't want to stay there I was booking at le Mamounia, but husband is more adventurous, and was told about this Riad, it was perfect! The rooms beautifully done, very elegant very chic, the food fantastic, service incredible, every one of the staff! The toiletries were amazing too! I cant praise it enough! It had such an intimate atmosphere, yet discreet service, the staff were very attentive, always. What a lovely lovely 4 days!

Wonderful Riad and very attentive staff. This is a real 5 star place and we recommend it highly for couples or singles. We stayed in a deluxe room with a private terrace overlooking the medina. Then got upgraded to a room also with a private terrace and with a the biggest bathroom we have seen, all marble. The decoration of the rooms and of the riad is high end. The attention to detail is exceptional.

A special thanks to our exceptional host, the Manager Jean-Paul, who did everything to make our stay unforgettable. We will be back for sure.

To walk into the The Villa Des Orangers from the road outside with its eclectic mixture of cars, motorbikes, bicycles and horse and carts, is to walk straight back into a serenity and beauty that could have come straight out of an Arabian Nights story book.

Previous reviews detail the splendour of the old Riyadh buildings, the cool fountains full of fresh, delicate rose petals, the swimming pools so swimmer–friendly, the delicious food and, most of all, the professional, attentive, and highly personable staff.

My husband and I – the daftnotstupid team – endorse all these comments. But what, I think, speaks louder than words, is the fact that we have been staying at the Villa Des Orangers every June for the last 10 or so years.

As part of the press corps covering the Essaouira Gnaoua and World Music Festival, we choose to spend several days at the Hotel before and after the Festival to totally relax; and the Villa Des Orangers is by far the best place to do that.

We have stayed in nearly every one of the rooms, ranging from the smaller two level inner rooms to the magnificent suite facing the ground floor swimming pool. Our preference, however, is to have one of the terrace suites, with the bedroom a flight of steps below.

There is no better way to spend an evening than to chill out on our own terrace, usually in swimwear well into the evening, and having our dinner served for us on the terrace. That is, after having had a beauty treatment or two at the newly created spa. Every so often we hear the call to prayer cascading around the town and the drumming from the Djema el Fna Square. And when the sun has set, it is a delight to lie on our loungers and trace the stars.

As you can well imagine, we cannot recommend this wonderful place highly enough.
