La Villa des Orangers - Hotel

Definitely, all staff members, reception, waiters and room maids are committed to provide the best service. The hotel is located close to the Koutoubia and five minutes walking from the Jemaa El Fna square.
We stayed in a duplex suite, unfortunately the only type of room available. However the duplex suite does not offer value for money. The entrance is on the patio. The rather dark living area is on the ground level with just one light, not really comfortable. The bedroom with TV and minibar is on the upper level and the bathroom is a few steps below the ground level. The DLX rooms are better - and less expensive.
Several salon are avalilable, there is a gastronomic restaurant and an idyllic garden with a 16 m pool.
The rates include full breakfast, non-alcoholic drinks, a three-course lunch (soup, main course, e.g. a fish salad, pasta or a club chicken sandwich and a dessert) and complementary laundry.
My suggestion: enjoy dinner at the trendy gourmet restaurant Le Foundouk (Souk Al Fassi), superb meals at reasonable prices. We walked about half an hour to the restaurant, from the Jemaa El Fna east along the Derb Dabaachi, at the end of this Derb, left along the Derb Issebtiyne to the Moukef Square. The restaurant has its own website.
Internet access with new hardware is available at the cyber parc, the entrance is close to the Bab Nkob. They charge 3 dhs/half an hour.

As there was nearly everything on perfection, I let you know the thing which was not that good: its a bit outside of the medina (5-10 minutes walk through heavy traffic-jam) to reach Djemaa el Fna.

The rooms were really well designed in moroccan style, service was excellent, two pools (the one on the roof was cold, the other heated). Although it was located on a main-street, the Riad was really very quiet inside.

A really nice feature is that you can choose any place in the riad were to have breakfast & dinner.

There was free Wifi on the rooms, but signal was partly poor.

I searched high and low for the perfect hotel to celebrate my 40th birthday in November 2006 and the Villa des Orangers did not disappoint - it is of no surprise that it rated 4th in Tripadvisors recent awards in the Top 100 Luxury Hotels Worldwide category!!

It's the service that makes this hotel simply exceptional and sets it apart from others we've stayed at - from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed 4 days later we were treated like royalty.

The concierge recommended some beautiful restaurants from local Morrocan where they managed to secure us a great window table overlooking the main square to funky contemporary - www.bo-zin.com. We loved Bo Zin so much we went twice - pretty reasonable prices and it has a courtesy car to bring you home (for certain hotels only)! Result!

As others have mentioned the lunches served in the courtyard were fab, very filling, great choice and extremely tasty - you won't be disappointed. It's a stunningly tranquil setting, surrounded by orange trees with the sun streaming down. Gorgeous.

This was a bit of a chillout weekend for us - no kids! so we spent a couple of days sunbathing on the roof top pool which was lovely - the courtyard pool is great too but doesn't get the sun all round during the day. Service can be a bit limited by the roof top pool (it's a few floors up) so I'd recommend taking a drink/water up there with you. However, staff are extremely obliging and happy to serve you up there, just ask them when you see them as they are servicing the top floor rooms.

We stayed in a duplex suite overlooking the main courtyard. The only negative on the whole 4 days was that it could be very noisy (no glass in the windows) so make sure you request a room away from there.

Also make sure you agree a price before you get into a taxi anywhere - the concierge flagged down a cab for us on one of our trips out to Bo Zin, he agreed a price with the driver - when we arrived at the restaurant he told us that was the price per person!! We knew it wasn't because we had been out there two nights prior!!

Enjoy Villa des Orangers - stunning hotel and is well deserving of its place in the 2006 Tripadvisor Awards - worth every penny!

My husband and I have just returned from wonderful 3 days in the Villa des Orangers in Marrakech. We both know a lot of 5* or 6* hotels, but we´ve never come along such a beautiful small
hotel, with the most phantastic staff. The 2 courtyards with their niches and their small drawingrooms with the lovely fire burning in the fireplaces, musicians playing while all the laternes and candles are lightend up, 2 nice swimmingpools (one on the roof), the nice private terraces and the lovely free lunch at the poolside - it´s all like a dream come true.
I would recommand a room facing the smaller of the 2 court yards (the second), because all the windows are facing the court and people have to pass the first one, so You could hear them and if you have a room on the groundlevel - it may disturb You (it would have disturbed me).
The hotel is superbably situated - just a 10 minute drive from the airport, you can reach the hotel by taxi (that´s not possible with other riads) and it only takes a 8 minutes walk to get to the famous Jemas el Fraa`and the souks.
We had dinner at 3 restaurants:
the NARWAMA - a spectacular place (thai cuisine - but not so
good (no set menü, but 50€/pers, but go there for a drink at the bar)
the Al MOHA - try to get a seat in the garden, the have a very good
and tasty set menü for about 45/Pers - it was the best we had in Marrkech - especially the different salads as an entry)
AL FASSIA - we didn´t like the food there specially, but at least we have been once to the "modern" part of Marrakech.
About the weather: it´s been very chilly in the evening and when there wasn´t any sun during the day (about 5 c), but when the sun was out, it was warm enough to lay at the pool.
In Short: a phantastic hotel in a beautiful old town (2 days for visiting are enough) with very nice Maroccians around.

My 17 year Godson and I spent 9 nights in December and early January at the Villa des Oranges. We had a deluxe room on the second floor of the riad overlooking a garden. It was large, beautifully decorated in great taste and had a huge bathroom, that we loved. The all around elegance and beauty of the hotel took your breath away. So calming and quiet in the middle of all the action!! Perfect!! We could walk practically everywhere and when we couldn't, taxis took all of a minute to show up at our door. I can't say enough about the staff. European trained, they were top drawer. The food top table, with roses in abundance everywhere and fires continuously burning in the fireplaces made this a most memorable Christmas/New Year holiday. I can't wait to return.

We stayed for a week and It would be hard to find fault with this wonderful treasure of a Riad situated only a few minutes walk from the main square, yet amazingly quiet (although you can hear the call to the mosque). The hotel runs very smoothly as the owners are there and the staff were fantastic, in particular, Hamid who both recommends restaurants, places to go and was an expert Taxi negotiator. The setting is beautiful and rooms were very comfortable, especially on 1st floor. Breakfast, lunch, all non-alcoholic drinks and laundry are included. We will go back.
