“Basic Hotel in need of some improvments”
Reviewed 10 December 2011

I visited Kenzi Farah for a long weekend in December with some friends. Firstly I need to say it certainly isnt the 4 or 5 star hotel it proclaims to be. It is a basic 3 star hotel. Do not take the half board option the food is very bad. I was half board and I had one breakfast one dinner and one lunch and ate next to nothing. Very poor service in the restaurant also. The pool are wasnt so bad. The rooms are basic, are first room had a dirty shower that didnt work so we were moved to a slightly nicer room. The service from reception was ok at times but generally very poor and slow.
I had a massage, the spa is also quite basic and we chose not to use the pool are as it looked dirty and smelt.
If you arent going to eat there and require a basic hote, l it fits the bill.

We spent 5 nights in Kenzi Farah Marrakech and had a bad experience. Despite requesting and booking a pool/garden view room, got a street facing room which was so noisy bcos of the traffic that it was impossible to sleep at all. Requests to change the room were declined. The reception staff were far from friendly and cooperative. Were kept waiting for nearly an hour for the check-in. The air-conditioning was pathetic and during the day it became unbearable. The food was ok - but hardly any options for vegetarians like us. The garden and the pool area was nice and well maintained. There are loads of other hotels nearby which are better and cheaper. Would strongly recommend giving this hotel a miss while in Marrakech which is otherwise a beautiful place.

Room Tip: Try to ensure that you book and get a pool facing room to avoid the traffic noise. Air conditioning...

when we checked in at the Kenzi the entrance was very impressive the staff came right out and took all our bags and cases and took the ahead of us to the room , we were lucky enough to have our requests met by Raja and Ahmed the booking managers and between them we got our rooms ajacing and also a lovely balcony near the pool , we were very very happy the rooms are massive with 2 beds and a lounging area and a mini bar and seperate bathrooms and toilet all very nicely decorated I was so impresssed .....the pool area is gorgeous and relaxing with big luxury towels and comfy sun beds the food at the resteraunt was aslso fantastic array of buffet foods with beatiful fruits and cakes and pastries ........I have to say we had an amazing time and the hotel was just walking distance from the square and Katoubia I think for the price we payed it was superb will surely return 100% and I am normally very fussy very very Happy Traveller Thank you Ahmed and Raja from Kenzi Hotels

We spent 6 nights at this hotel, wonderful for family, and peaceful break. Language can be an issue for none Arabic and French speakers, but one can get by. Staff attitude is “can do and will do". Food labeling is an issue for none meat/fish and vegetarian, some time no labels other-time in French..
Room and room service are okay for the price. Spa, please pass........
It is easy to walk to nearest Cafes and the Medina. Check out time extension was no issue, extra hours is given without major effort.
I have seen small pets in the hotel. Disable facilities and children facilities okay. There are no out door games, just table tennis court. TV channels all in French and Arabic, ( well done you who studied French GCSCs/A level). For English speakers there are only Euro News and CNN. Overall good,, safe and satisfactory. No hard selling at the poolside or anywhere in the hotel. Book half board or Bed/breakfast only

Room Tip: No tea making facilities in he rooms rooms in rear of the hotel good view to pool and garden,

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, before driving to southern part of the country. The Hotel is quite old but very nice, and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was a self service Buffet, with a good selection to chose from. The large swimming pool is set in the middle of a beautiful garden, and a small indoor is also available. There is a Bar with evening enterainment, usually a singer, and I would recomend the Moroccan Beer. The room was excellent, with en suite and TV, but no Coffe or making facilities . would I stay here again, Yes

Reading some of these reviews you would be put off to stay here - but what do people expect when you pay these prices. The hotel is somewhat dated but was clean and very comfortable. It is in a quiet safe area of Marrakesh, takes about 15 minnutes to walk to the medina. The breakfast was great - you could have freshly made omlettes and freshly made pancakes. Fruit juice, meat, cheese, cereals, croissants, bread and yoghurts (how much more can you eat)! The staff were always friendly to and no English wasnt there first language isnt that why we travel to experience someone elses culture . Dont get in a taxi outside the hotel as you will be ripped off, just walk round the corner and tell them that you want medina and only pay 20 dirums (£2 approx), sometimes we splashed out and paid £3. If you want 5 star then go round the corner and pay 3 times more....

We stayed here for a short city break. As said in previous reviews this is definitely not a 5* hotel. Our room was fine for a short stay but let down by not having tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Breakfast was boring & of a pretty low standard but the freshly made pancakes were delicious.
This hotel is situated in a good location which means you can walk to the main square in about 20 minutes (we were 2 females & felt completely safe whilst doing so) I would advise catching a cab back at night though.
As said before if you are not by the pool in the morning you will not be able to find a sunlounger in the afternoon, a lot of people were laying on the grass areas.
You have to pay extra to use the gym & even the indoor pool
We had massage treatments which were fine but the 'bottled' water they gave us after our treatments made us ill for several days.
