Hotel Marrakech le Semiramis

Got the hotel as part of an easyjet minibreak - four nights there. The rooms are comfortable and clean, if a little scuffed; there are very pleasant grounds and pool that are excellent after a hot day in the frenetic city. For economy we went half board; the food was pretty good. Lots of excellent salad and fruit, however the main courses were acceptable but not very inspiring or Morrocan. There is a reasonable bar if you can stand the over-amplified 'entertainment'.
Two more general tips. Beware of the self apponted 'guides' in the souk - they walk in front guiding you to where you were going anyway and then demand money.
Also do take a day tour to the foothills of the Atlas mountains - there is a tour company called something like IZMA (the tourist office willdirect you to them) who do an excellent day trip.

We've just returned from 4 nights in mid march and really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel lobby and grounds are very nice and well kept, the rooms are slightly dated now with dents etc in the walls but it was very clean. I'm sure a fresh lick of paint would make a big difference.

We only dined once at the restaurant at lunchtime which was a buffet with a range of meat and fish as well as plenty of salads. We also had breakfast which was a nice selection of breads, cooked food and fruit.

The staff were all extremely helpfully and pleasant and overall it's was an enjoyable stay.

We also took advantage of the tour guide who took us round the souks and medina, when you're a bit unsure as we were this was a great way to see what you want to see.

Got a bargain deal at this hotel so given the cost, the stay was excellent. The hotel is a long way from the centre of Marrkech (15m by taxi), and we needed taxis for every outing, but these were easy to get and not too expensive. Rooms at the hotel were very big and the beds comfortable but due to the time of year the air con was not in operation and the rooms were very warm overnight. The pool area was lovely and the service in the restaurant and bars was friendly and good. The buffet was adequate but the 'hot' food was only tepid - we did get to the buffet quite late in the day for service and the cooked food was nearly cold on nearly every occasion but it tasted ok and none of the 6 of us travellers got stomach ache so that must say something! There were mini bars in the rooms, we took our own travel kettle for tea/coffee and we could not complain at the cost of our break.
Go into the Atlas mountains if you get a chance - they are so picturesque! We had a lovely day trip there (pre-organised from home before our travels)

Room Tip: We were near the front of the hotel but not troubled by noise or disco other travellers have complai...

Stayed here before, and came back 22nd December. Biggest problem with this hotel is that it is empty, I would guess that there are about 6 families staying here, it's very cold they only put the heating on about 8pm, The public areas are freezing, need to wear an overcoat for dinner, came to bed early last night because the bar was very cold. The best thing with this hotel is the staff very friendly and helpfully.I thing Morroco is suffering from the credit crunch, people are not visiting this country as before.

If something looks really cheap; there are reasons why it looks cheap!
This hotel is really aged and seems like has never been renovated. It may have been a 5* 20 years ago..the standards have since dropped to floor levels.
If you`re after a luxurious touch to your stay: please stay away from it. More of a 2*/3* place now.
Although some of the staff were friendly, the restaurants, food , club, swimming pool, and the rest seemed not appealing.
My suggestion will be to spend few more bucks and find a better option.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

After having read through the reviews on here, there are some valid points and some not so. This hotel probably is 5 star based on moroccan standards. The food isn't great, but it's not that great anywhere in marrakech. Yes taxi's will try rip you off, but there is always the bus.. Or barter... The location was ideal for us ( 2 females) as it got us away from the hassle of the local men constantly bugging us, i would not have liked being any closer to the main square. You can walk it to the new town which is much calmer than the main areas. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are dated but I didn't come across much in Marrakech that wasn't. Any issues I had were probably down to not being that fond of Marrakech, not the hotel itself.

Room Tip: Facing the gardens
