Stayed on Dec 2013, this Hotel is 30 mns drive from the Airport, very accessible by bus 4 Dirham or taxi ( cheap 50 Dirham) to the famous Jam El Fna square. We stayed , half board 2 adults n kids for 9 days @ around 600 £. Swimming pool very lovely and exotic, our room just facing the pool, Staffs are very accomodating as well as the managers. Food are buffet a volonte , , Menus are changing every night , from classic Morrocans couscous, tagine, to Italians, campagnarde etc etc, they are having special event every friday night. They also have karaoke bar but only one singer can sing which is a little too boring for me as I frequent lovely pubs n karaoke spots in the world...The decoration is very Casablanca, we liked it , very nice old doors and lamps and jars and stairs everywhere, though lights a bit dim , maybe to add romance or saved electricity. I love the exotic Plants inside the hotel, for our kids they have a billiard and we enjoyed the Table tennis match. Just beware of the taxis waiting in front of the hotel some will screw you , will offer to go here n there and you will end up visiting unexpected shops where they get commissions. Better bargain or haggle , they love them the Marrakesh people. A camel ride in the Ourika valley is better than in the city.....or you can go further in the Essaouira to sea the Fishermen , birds and the Sea, ...or spent an arabian nights in the dessert. A taxi driver will bring you there for less than a hundred pounds for the whole day ! Marrakesh is beautiful and it is an exciting, exotic, surprising journey- it is fun, crazy, surprising, exotic trip never to miss in your lifetime,

Room Tip: better ask for a room near the swimming pool or far from the karaoke bar , avoid front rooms, Rooms...

We were over 400 English teachers at our annual conference at the Semiramis. The hotel staff was amazing. They were very helpful and very attentive. The hotel itself has everything you could ask for - even if you are staying for tourism and not for business. Rooms are large and airy and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and include a pool, tennis courts, football field (half-size), and two outside bars. The hotel is also within short walking distance of many restaurants and cafes, and a bus ride away from the historic center of Marrakech.
One warning: do be careful with the Marrakech taxi drivers. Unlike drivers in other Moroccan cities, the Marrakech drivers do not use the taxi meter and tend to charge outrageous prices.

Room Tip: I've never seen a bad room!

We were 8 people including children and teenagers, we had a lovely and very enjoyable stay at the hotel. There were language barriers but the staff was extra helpful.
Food was very good , every night we had different menu. Breakfast was good, serving waitresses were brilliant. The lady who makes traditional flat bread in butter was excellent.
There was something for everyone in the group .

We stayed 3 nts half board. We found bedmattress was good (firm enough), clean bedding and spacious room. Great power shower and nice balconies, some overlooking the gorgeous gardens. I found our room noisy on the first night due to the extractor fan / vent being near the room so asked to be moved to a quieter room - I had put a request for quiet room which was overlooked by reception staff - it was not straight forward to move room despite staying off peak season but got there in the end.
Restaurant is basic and nothing amazing. The food is not being topped up so when its gone its gone! We booked half board and had to ensure we had our meals at the beginning of the service to have more choice. We missed out until we got more organised to come early. I wish we'd only booked B&B.
The staff around the hotel varies. Some are helpful, some will try if you ask (once or twice!), some are useless. In my opinion, other than the gardens – only area to benefits from being mature! - & pool which is extremely pleasant – the hotel itself is all a bit dated – Good enough for a tight budget though!
I would agree with a previous comment 'Don't have too much of an expectation, enjoy the cheap prices and don't eat in the hotel and you will have an enjoyable trip'.
The location is in the new town a bit away from everything it seems. The road to access hotel had building work when we went so not very pretty to approach on foot - we had to take a (cheap) taxi everywhere. But that's also because we did not spend too long at this hotel and did not have time to work out how to walk to places from there.

We were looking for a cheap getaway to the sunshine in November and that is what we got overall.
We cant agree with the reviews that said that the staff were unhelpful as they were really good to us during our stay; it probably is true that how you treat people is very important in how they treat you back. We have always found this to be the case. Smile and they will smile back and so on, which was what we found.
The breakfasts were quite poor for european standards and you had to pay extra if you wanted an omelette - also the later you came downstairs, the less choice there was, and most of it was very unhealthy food, all sugar or fat based. However, it was all edible it was just not my choice or my partner's either. The coffee was okay though and the non-european guests seemed to be tucking into the pancakes and honey - if it wasnt for the diet being completely trashed, I would have tried at least one.
The room was okay. It was basic but clean enough and the cleaners were enthusiastic - dont forget to put your do not disturb sign on the door if you dont want visitors at 0830! The balcony was very poorly maintained, however, and the door didnt lock easily. Also, because we had a garden room, the birds were frequent visitors, which might have been nice but they had built a nest in the light fitting and they left "presents" on the balcony banister which the cleaners were less enthusiastic about cleaning up!

We loved Marrakech and the hotel provided a good base. Do be careful on the buses as the small children that look very cute with their grandmothers in tow are likely to be very experienced pick pockets and so you have been warned. Dont keep wallets etc in pockets or they will go - put them in zipped bags and keep an eye on them. The number 1 took about 30 mins but much longer at the weekend in the evenings because of the traffic.

The hotel would be improved massively if they provided some basic information in your room - however it is likely that it would be all in french as that is the main language apart from Moroccan and so you would need your phrase book if your french isnt good.

Finally a special mention to the barmen in the Hotel bar Aladin - they were very helpful and remembered your order well - and they smiled a lot when smiled at.

Dont have too much of an expectation, enjoy the cheap prices and dont eat in the hotel and you will have an enjoyable trip.

Room Tip: Dont chose the garden rooms - it is next to the car park and we were disturbed a lot by people's...
