Beautiful mosque, open to non Muslims. Beautiful architecture and interesting to see the college area and how the students lived.

“Intricate Details”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

Visiting ta Madrasa is probably something every traveler should do in Morocco, whether it is here or in Fes or somewhere else. This one is easily accessible. The tickets only 40 dirhams (about $5) and for 10 dirhams more it includes access to the Marrakech Museum just a few steps away.

Inside you'll be treated to elaborate carvings. A tour guide might be recommended, but there are a few signs posted in French which we were able to figure out.

“Wonderful architecture and tiling”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

Tucked in the Medina up by the Musee de Marrakech the Ali Ben Youssef Madrasa is a must see sight of the city. Ornate panelled doors are matched by the highly picturesque and details ceramic tiles which cover the floors, walls and walkways.
The student rooms are more like cells but those which have views over the courtyard with its huge central water feature are worth queing to get in to. Close you eyes and you can almost hear the rhythmic recitals of the students learning the Koran.
A photographer's paradise as well with great angles and lights.

“Beautiful architecture”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

Beautiful architecture, used to be a school for boys I think. Unfortunately on the day we visited there was a fashion shoot and select parts had been closed off. Disappointed.

“GORGEOUS”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

As you can visit any mosque in Marrakech if you're not a muslim, this is a good way to look at very beautiful architecture. Its a gem in the city. Beautiful and quiet!
