“Terrific location and nice amenities”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

Stayed here with my daughter's family (2 children) and had a wonderful stay. Extremely short stroll to the medina (passing a superb bakery just a few steps away). Rooftop heated pool was a hit with the kids...not to mention the joy at finding rose petals on the beds. Clean, elegant, nice piano bar and several food options at the hotel. Breakfast was a generous feast.

They only would allow one child in each room. For us no problem as we enjoy having a seven year old share our space. But something to keep in mind if you are 2 adults traveling with 2 young ones.

There was a spa but we did not use it.

We were also upgraded to rooms that shared a patio....so the kids were able to stroll back and forth between the rooms. For us...a really nice bonus.

Rugs in the hall were a bit tattered. A very slight defect.

This is the best location to see the Medina- just few steps from Jemaa el Fna. We stayed with our 6 years old son and the service, room, and especially wonderful swimming pool were perfect. The hotel served as an oasis for us, a peace of mind in this enchanting and bustling city. They provided wonderul service: we had an English speaking tour guide around Marrakech, they provided driver and a guide to Atlas Mountains, and Essaouira by the ocean, even reservations in the most exquisite restaurants around the town. It is next to the souks of the Medina so shopping is just outside the doors. The hotel has few different restaurants and if too tired one can eat there as well. The staff was very kind and pleasant and always helpful. We had a time of our lives.

First of all it's summer in January. Then you are in a five star hotel , a real one ! Everything is five stars : the room ( waiting for you with rose petals all over the bed ) , the breakfast , the service ( special thanks to the public relation "directrice" ) the restaurants of the hotel , the location ( right next to the medina, in the very center of the town :)
Even the smell in the hotel is very special . You will only wait to come back !
So next time you are in Marrakech book this hotel and enjoy !

We spent 5 days here. Staff helpful and friendly, the breakfast was lovely and the heated rooftop pool was fantastic. We got upgraded to a quieter room with a view of the pool, very tranquil and relaxing. The position is fantastic, right by the square with loads to see. I would visit again, most definitely.

Room Tip: view of pool, rather than noisy medina is a must

This hotel exceeded expectations. It is located on a side street that leads directly into the Djenna Elf'na square and the heart of the souks - literally a two minute walk. The other direction is a two minute walk ti the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. The room was HUGE! I couldn't have asked for more. The building is a bit old, but in a charming and historic way that adds to the experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the Indian restaurant on the roof was quite good. I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat

After the souks and the square of el f'na, Les Jardins de La Koutoubia is a wonderful oasis. We had a very good lunch on the outside edge of the pool. A little bit expensive but worth the experience. The service was good and of course the flowers and pool make a wonderful setting. Everything was clean including the toilets. The concierge services were very helpful and quite a contrast to the responses we got from our own hotel.

When you first pull up outside the Rhiad it doesn't look much from the outside. It's in a small backstreet with various stalls selling cheap watches and hi-fi stuff. When you then enter you are greeted with a cup of delicious mint tea while you check in and then taken taken to your room.
The Rhiad is very traditional with stone staircases, which, whilst looking slightly worn in places, adds to the romantic traditional of the property. Our room was beautiful overlooking the courtyard and main Mosque which is lit up at night. The bed and bathroom were covered in fresh rose petals which were replaced every day when the room was serviced. The bathroom itself was large and comfortable and although showed some wear and tear, it was in keeping with the atmosphere of the Rhiad (some minor knocks and bumps in stone is only to be expected).
The staff were polite and attentive without being "in your face" - a pleasant retreat after the attentions of street marketers of Marrakech.
Eating wise, the breakfast was lovely (and very entertaining thanks to a beautiful and playful kitten who enjoys saying hello to everyone in the morning - ladies watch out for any flappy bits on your handbags!). The french restaurant attached to the Rhiad and the Moroccon restaurant were lovely. The Indian restaurant on the top balcony was lovely food but poor service. The lunch there is fairly basic.
We would definitely stay there again.
