We stayed at Les Jardins de La Koutoubia for 4 days in the last week of May 2014. The moment we checked in we were accommodated by the super attentive staff. We had a suite with a beautiful balcony. The room was meticulously cleaned several times a day and the property and gardens were stunning! It's a stones throw from the mad chaos of the medina and most of the local attractions. Luckily the hotel arranged an english speaking local guide Abdel H'amid Labyad who was the best guide we toured with in our 10 day stay and experience with over 7 guides. We would highly recommend him to any one visiting Marrekech . Also the indian restaurant was beautiful and had amazing food, we ate there 4 times and was a culinary high point for us since my husband loves indian food. Also the spa was well maintained and we went to a hamam and massage there.

Room Tip: Suite, overlooking the pool

No way is this 5 star. it should be 3! food poisoning following a meal in their Indian restaurant so i lost two days. something went missing from the room!
if you want to get up at 6 to get a lounger near the pool then ok for you. The customer service is 'listen' and do nothing. forget it and try elsewhere . i wont go back. Jon B

Room Tip: get a balcony if you can

This was a 2 nd visit to Marrakesh en route to the desert and we stayed the night before we left and the night after we returned. Having sampled a lovely riad in the medina last time, we wanted a base where we could leave our car for 5 days. The location, service and rooms were lovely. we were 3 and had a suite overlooking the pool for one night with adjoining rooms - perfect. The pool after breakfast was refreshing before heading into the medina to explore. We would stay again as it's old world charm but comfort and bustle worked for us!

Room Tip: all rooms have lovely views of either the pool but the night view of the Koutoubia mosque was also special from our balcony.

We went to Marrakesh for a week and chose this hotel because we wanted to have a pool in the sun all day - many of the riads have pools but are often shaded in the afternoon as the sun goes lower and the walls block the sun. This hotel not only has a great pool in the central courtyard but a wonderful rooftop pool with views across the city and the Koutoubia mosque. The setting, service, rooms and food were excellent and the rose wine at the end of the day was both reasonably priced at about £16 per bottle and tasted good too! We did venture out to various restaurants at the hotels suggestion but found the hotel food to be the best quality. Apart from an Italian restaurant whose name I cant' recall in the modern part of the town with a wonderful pool in the middle of it - hotel I'm sure can tell you where it is and the name! We were initially disappointed with the medina and just skirted around the edges - our mistake - you need to delve in and the constant hassling to buy knock off goods stops and the exotic world of the medina opens up. We also found the casbah near the palace to be just what we expected of marrakesh and felt like we were on the set of a james bond movie - the strawberry milk shake at the cafe casbah was wonderful sitting on their roof terrace. We loved it and woudl definatley return to the hotel again.

Room Tip: we requested a room upgrade as it was our anniversary and got one - but we were staying a week so they probably knew we'd spend with them!!

Just got back from 4 nights at this very nice hotel. It has an authentic Moroccan feel (the decor is pleasantly worn) and is only a couple of blocks away from the souks and craziness of the Jemaa El Fna. It still feels tranquil on the hottest of days. The rooftop Indian restaurant is good, and the second swimming pool adjacent to it is a great escape from it all, even if there aren't always enough deck chairs to go around. Cocktails or mint tea by the main riad-style pool are a treat, and the staff is cheerful and helpful. Great for couples or families.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the main pool.
