“Warm and friendly, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

I spent 5 fantastic nights at this riad with my 16 year old granddaughter, and would highly recommend it. Bruno went out of his way for us, even escorting us at 5am on Sunday to where we were being picked up for a ballon flight. Even though the riad is close to the souk we felt safe, the alleyway is lit at night. The riad is beautifully decorated in warm colours. Even though Bruno speaks little English and I speak even less French, this just added to the charm. Our evening meal was also excellent. We are going back to Marrakech next year and will hopefully be able to stay with Bruno again.

me and my friend spent 5 days in this beautiful riad and it was all perfect. Bruno and all the ladies were absolutely there for us for everything we needed. It is near to the souk and to Djema el fna square.... just a little bit scary during the night because the Street is quite desert but we had no problem! so i suggest this riad but i hope bruno will learn some english sooner or later! :D

Room Tip: Take the green suite!

My boyfriend and I spent two wonderful nights at Riad Charcam. Bruno and Asmaa made sure we had everything we needed and were excellent hosts - we couldn't find fault with anything! Bruno arranged a taxi from the airport and met us - highly recommended as with every riad in the medina it could be difficult to find on first arrival. Asmaa provided us with all the info we needed to get our bearings and we then had no problem finding our way around. I would definitely recommend the location of this riad - it seems to be in one of the loveliest parts of the medina - right by rue Mouassine which leads into the souks. Having explored the Medina quite a bit during our stay, this area seemed a lot nicer than anywhere south of Jemaa el Fna. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby too - Asmaa marked out great places to eat and those to avoid which was really useful! The riad itself is very comfortable and clean - our bedroom was filled with rose petals which was a lovely welcoming touch. The pool on the roof was perfect for cooling down in and Asmaa and the other lovely ladies working with Bruno were always close by offering mint tea and anything we needed. We would definitely stay in Riad Charcam again!

Room Tip: We stayed in the orange room on the ground floor - no complaints!

French speaking Bruno and Asmaa run this Riad in the centre of the Medina. Despite being only a short walk from the Djemaa El-Fna square it is calm and quiet and a perfect respite from the noisy busy city. The Riad was very cosy with lighting and soft furnishings in warm colours and some nice decorative touches which included a water feature, rugs, cushions, and warming log fires. Even our twin beds and bathroom was strewn with rose petals. We stayed in the yellow room which was a little bit on the small side for us with our big backpacks - we'd recommend choosing one of the other rooms if you are travelling as a couple. The breakfast was lovely with coffee, juice, yoghurt, egg, pancakes and bread. When you arrive Asmaa gives you a very detailed orientation/introduction to Marrakech. This is a great option - but it's better if you can speak/understand French.

Riad Charcam may be a bit difficult to find the first time without GPS (!), but it is worth it. It is calm, quiet, and peaceful, but only a few yards from the souks of the medina (which can be very busy and crazy), and 10 minutes walk (if you don't get lost!) to Jamaa el Fna. We had the orange room, which was very clean and comfortable. There was lots of hot water (you have to wait for it to come through!). The riad has a lovely courtyard with palms and plants. Breakfast is on the roof top - pancakes, eggs, bread and jams with tea/coffee. You can get a Lipton tea if you prefer it to Moroccan mint tea. The hosts, Bruno and Asmaa are very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the riad, so can't comment on dinner, but saw other guests dining downstairs in the cosy lounge/dining area.

Would definitely recommend to friends.

In a small labyrint you will find this little Riad with the friendly hosts Bruno & Asha. Always service minded they run this little Riad close to all the souk experience you want, imcluding 200 m to the "leather village".

Room Tip: We had the green room which was great but the red is bigger....

My husband and I unreservedly recommend Riad CharCam to any visitor to Marrakech. Situated right in the Medina (difficult to find at first, you may need to get directions) but quiet and relaxing, the perfect escape from the craziness of the souks. Jemaa el Fna is a few minutes walk away. The owner, Bruno, could not be more friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
