“Great Place”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location seemed a bit dodgy at first due to it being down a series of back streets but after walking it a few times we realised it was ok. Walter was a great host to deal with and also met us from the taxi. He gave us a great welcome at the Riad with mint tea and some info on the city.
All the other staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast each day was great. We also received a free room upgrade and the room was fantastic with a great shower!
The only downside was the rooftop jacuzzi was not on whilst we were there. I would definately recommend this riad.

Room Tip: The suite is great!

Stayed here for 8 days. Beautifully decorated and so peaceful within the courtyard. The Riad was clean and tidy and the staff were fantastic. So polite and accommodating - Walter, his wife Fatima and Brahim. It was a sanctuary to relax after a hectic day out on the Marrakech streets and sit out on the rooftop terrace. We had a home cooked meal by their cook Latifa which was the best meal of our trip. There was so much food and we were disappointed only by the fact we couldn't finish it!

We had all the excursions booked through the Riad and we were picked up which was stress free. Location was good as it was a 5-10 minute walk to the main square and most of the main attractions. Great value for money.

The Riad is on a quiet little street yet still close to the central square that you are close to all the hustle and bustle of the city life. Our room was lovely and clean and decorated in traditional Moroccan style. All of the staff were very accomodating and there was nothing that wasn't too much trouble for them. The owner Walter even took us to a couple of his favourite shops so that we could get the best quality gifts. His wife also cooked us the most amazing traditional Moroccan meal. We will definitely be going again!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, there are only a few rooms and the Riad is quiet enough that any room would...

We looked at 15 or so Riads in Marrakech medina and Swaka was by far the most beautifully renovated. Rooms are larger than most Riads and are comfortably furnished with lovely decor. All have been recently restored. Area is super quiet (no motorbikes!). Fatima and Walter are a friendly couple who treat staff and guests like family. Charming stay

Walter and Fatty, as well as their staff, showed us a great Moroccan welcome from the moment we entered their peaceful Riad. Always willing to answer all of our needs, they even took from their personal time to bring us shopping for mosaic tables which are manufactured on the outskirts of the city. Great times, great people, an easy choice!
