La Grande Table Francaise is the French restaurant in the Royal Mansour Hotel. The other restaurant is Moroccan. My wife and I dined at some excellent restaurants for Moroccan cuisine in Marrakesh. We were looking to for a formal French restaurant to cap off our trip – special is what you find at the La Grande Table Francaise. Wanted to see the Royal Mansour hotel – truly beautiful and refined. You can tell it was built by the royal family, probably for other royals. Enjoyed cocktails in the bar before dinner and everything from the drinks, furnishings and service was perfect.
Dinner is traditional French cuisine. We tried the tasting menu paired with wine. The food was excellent and probably ranks one of the best meals we have had – food, atmosphere and service. The service is very formal. Each course is served and the sommelier explained the wine and why the wine is paired with each course. The staff was fun to interact with; while they were wearing white gloves (and provided white glove service) they were approachable.
We were one of the few couples in the restaurant the specific night we dined. We were in Marrakesh during “shoulder season”; some of the other popular restaurants we dined at were pretty open as well. If you’re looking for an excellent French meal for a special occasion, I would recommend La Grande Table Francaise.
