Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

We definitely wanted to go to Jardin Majorelle because of recommendations of nearly everyone when it comes to sights in Marrakech.
But what we found was basically a theatrical stage... for instagrammers. They even queued in front of a blue wall, in order to get the exact same pictures of everyone, but only with their face on it. Cool.

Luckily, we had a combined ticket for also the Berber museum and the Yves Saint Laurent museum.
The Berber museum was worth the visit, we liked to get some insight into this old, traditional tribe.
The YSL-part was OK, but a bit expensive for what you can see, though.
We'd rather not recommend it. But if you are into YSL or instagram – go for it.

Arrive early in the morning (between 8am and 9am) to avoid long lines under the sun! Once you get in, this place is just magical with all this beautiful and incredible cactuses and different kinds of plants.
If you do have the time, go next door to the YSL Museum, a MUST go if you like architecture, design and fashion.

A must see garden in central Marrakesh, beautiful outdoor space with enormous history and design especially if you are interested in the fashion industry. A little crowded when we visited and a little expensive to visit!

I went there as part of a group. We were fortunate to have tickets booked and paid for so we were able to walk straight in. It's a wonderful garden with a beautiful atmosphere.

My only gripe was by the time we had been through the Berber Museum the place was absolutely crowded. We had a quick look around the site shop and was thankful to leave. If gardens aren't your thing, due to the sheer volume of people I would give it a miss. Though if you do take the plunge tins of the Yves Saint Laurent blue paint is available to purchase!!!
