Writing this review to balance out all the 5 star recommendations. Couldn't understand the positive reviews from the photos I could see. Thought there must be more to it. Spent 10 minutes inside, and although relatively cheap (30 MD per person), you are very quickly bored. There are lots of cacti, but it's definitely not worth going out of your way to see.
I can't imagine how some people say it's their favourite thing about Marrakech. Did they not go to the High Atlas mountains, through Ourika Valley? Play with the performers in Jemaa El Fna square at night? Go for a hammam and massage at a spa? Go on a cooking course with at a local Berber village?
I've posted some photos, but they are nicer than the real thing. Perhaps we're spoilt, having been through the bamboo forests in Saga-Arashiyama (Japan) and Kew Gardens and the Eden Project (England), but I would give this a miss unless you REALLY needed a short break from the Souks.
