“I already want to go back”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Everything about this stay was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to ensure our large group was well catered for. Special touches of roses in each room (including sitting rooms connecting bedrooms), breakfast on the rooftop and mint tea by the fireplace really made this stay memorable for me. I hope to go back in a warmer month to fully enjoy the pool and a private terrace.

This stunning hotel is like a tardis, with multiple communal rooms to escape to and an awesome rooftop terrace to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast or just soak up the warmth of the city in peace and quiet. It is a real treat for the eyes, with a multitude of traditional rugs tapestries and old wood. The staff were amazing, very attentive and available whenever needed. The food was great too and the breakfast perfect (fresh fruit salad, fresh yogurt, pancakes, croissants or bread, with soft cheese and honey - yum!). The tucked away location has it plus and minus points. It's quiet and away from the mayhem, but like all over Marrakech the small alley ways are not to be walked alone, especially after dark.

Room Tip: Overall all the rooms are fantastic although there are a couple to avoid if you can - the Camel room...

This hotel with only 12 rooms is a combination of 8 small houses hidden within the bustling souk. Each room is different and special. It cannot be compared to any hotel, motel or other place I have previously stayed. We had the 'suite' over the patio overlooking the garden - beautiful. The fire place was lit for us each night. Heating was also available in the bedroom as in the shower room. The staff was more than helpful and provided the necessary support for our transportation to and from the organized driver each day with our luggage/or golf bags. Free wifi in the patio. A private haman/sauna with massage is available upon request. Breakfast on the roof or in the patio was romantic!

We had a workshop in November in this location. It is a beautyful, lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. The room, where we had the workshop in, was a little bit cold, because the ancient doors couldn´t be closed very well, but the staff did their best to make it as comfortable as possible.

Tucked away down an alley off a bustling shopping street leading to the main square a small unremarkable door was the only indication of the riad which lays behind. Stooping to get through we then negotiated differrent turns and steps to finally spill out into the courtyard shaded by fruit bearing trees and with a water centrepiece thoughtfuly scatterred with rose petals..Breakfast on the roof with the muezzin competing with the birds; rooms draped in rugs and wonderfuly coloured painted ceilings all added to a fantastic experience. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: The camel room off the main courtyard could be noisy if fellow guests are late night revellers.

Besides all the quality and inspiration you can see, feel, touch, experience and last but not least taste in every feature of this wonderful riyad one of the major benefits is the amazing tranquillity just at the heart of the medina. You can directly dive into all the huzzle and buzzle of the city´s heartbeat at Jemma El Fna and the surrounded souks and just a few steps away behind thick walls and a heavy wodden front door you will find a perfect refugium for a pleasant break, having a mint tea or a cappuccino, cooling down in the pool and making new plans for the rest of the day always supported by great staff, if needed. You can virtually switch between pure and intense Medina lifestyle and a relaxing me-time just on demand within a minute, that´s a terrific experience that also mirrows the contrasts you will find out there and really helps to make the most out of your stay in Marrakesh.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are even more quieter

Lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff. The hotel and patios are beautiful and it is difficult to believe you are just steps away from the craziness of Jemma El Fna. Great breakfast as well. Would have loved to have had time to use the hamam....Would definitely recommend!
