This is a fantastic property that's ideally situated and furnished to a high standard. It has a roof terrace with bar and restaurant which was a bit cold when we visited but I imagine is fantastic when a little warmer. Our room was clean but with no windows gave the feeling of being a bit claustrophobic.

The staff are friendly and helpful but at breakfast and dinner the service was very poor. There were too many times when there were several staff talking to each instead of clearing plates or taking an order. I'm not keen on over- attentive service but time after time we found ourselves frustrated with trying to get their attention.

We had the privilege of staying in this magnificent riad for ten days. We wanted to stay in a traditional Moroccan residence in the heart of the real Marrakech and this place certainly didn't disappoint. The architecture is absolutely amazing with something different around every corner - the five riads are all individual in their character and design and utterly charming. The service is second to none and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I must admit, when we first arrived, we were taken aback by the general atmosphere of the kasbah in the street outside La Sultana. However, we soon got used to the general buzz of the place and had a great time exploring. If you want to see the real Marrakech but want to escape to tranquility after a while then La Sultana is the place to stay. We would love to return.

The hotel is situated in the Medina and within walking distance of all the major sights (except Majorelle and Menera Gardens).
The hotel staff could't be more helpful and friendly and it is small enough for everyone to get to know you but not so small that you may feel awkward as one catering for a very small number of guests.
The decor and furnishings inside of the hotel are quite amazing and unlike anything I have seen in a 5 star hotel. In addition the sun bathing and relaxation area on the roof is a great retreat after a few hours trudging around the Medina and Souks.
Restaurant is very good also.
It is expensive but it does seem more authentic than the box style hotels outside the Medina.
Would definitely recommend

Room Tip: I would go for a junior suite

We loved our time at la sultana. All the staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and were never disappointed. The spa was a delight and very relaxing. Right in the heart of Marrakech but perfect peace and tranquility once inside. A special thanks to Ghizlaine and Khalid who were extremely helpful and made our stay extra special. Can't wait to return!

We wanted to stay in a typically morrocan riad in the centre of everything,
La Sultana is in the Kasbah close to all the attractions. The hotel consists
of 5 riads all with different décor, the riads are a sight to behold every where
is so beautiful & opulent you could spent your entire stay and not leave the
hotel. Our suite consisted of lounge , bedroom, bathroom & terrace all of equal
size (huge), there was a lovely courtyard with water feature & your own sun loungers.
The staff are so polite friendly & attentive nothing is too much trouble, we stayed for 4
nights & ate in the restaurant every day & night the food & wine were supurb as was the
service. The roof terrace was amazing, areas for sun bathing or shaded areas for reading
& chilling out or watching the hub bub going on in the streets below. This was our first
trip to Morroco & we thoroughly enjoyed our experience because we chose to stay
at La Sultana. We would highly recommend this hotel. An oasis of calm & tranquillity.
A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

What a wonderful place to stay! It's not like any other hotel - indeed to call it a hotel demeans it because EVERYONE treats you as though you were a very special guest in their own home. That is hard to find. All staff are so polite and attentive and are happy to talk about anything. So a special mention and thank you to everyone we met particularly in the restaurant, reception and spa and also a big thank you to all those behind the scenes whom we did not see but who help to make La Sultana such an out of this world destination.
This was our first visit to Marrakech so that first venture out to the souks and Place Jemaa el Fna was daunting indeed. When it all became too much we knew that we had a retreat to a place of peace and tranquility in La Sultana. It is hard to describe and believe but just 20 paces takes you from the frenetic street activity of the Kasbah to a place of quiet solitude and calm. As soon as you go through the doors of reception the noise, heat and dust of the street disappear and you can lose yourself in any number of beautifully decorated alcoves, rooms and themed courtyards/riads to relax and reflect. That helped us to appreciate Marrakech to the full as to begin with we were overwhelmed by the street life, souks and Jemma el Fna but by the time we had to leave we did not want to go!
We also tried eating out to experience the vitality of the town at night but on the two occasions we did eat in La Sultana we concluded that we wished we had eaten in all the time. Food is superb, choice is excellent and ambience wonderful. In fact we did not find a better room setting and atmosphere.
It only leaves us to say that we have no hesitation recommending La Sultana as THE place to stay in Marrakech and we will return ourselves.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Riad Bahia are wonderful and have a little more natural light.

We had the most fab time at La Sultana Hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful while we were there. They gave great recommendations for dining out which they booked for us and organised a guide for us for the souk and for a general tour around the Medina. They organised a trip into the Atlas Mountains and got our taxis for us too. The hotel is well placed for the Main Square which is 10 mins walk away as is the souk just at the back of the square. The Saddian tombs are adjacent to the hotel. Everything else is just a short easy taxi ride away. The roof terrace is lovely to sunbathe or watch the sun go down with a cocktail.
We had the Jaguar suite which was lovely and very well appointed though perhaps a little dark. The 2 balconies it had did help with that though and the bathroom was sumptuous! The complementary 1/2 bottle of champagne and delicious nibbles and fruit left in the room was a lovely touch along with free soft drinks from the mini bar.
The hotel has different styles in the riads which make it up - they are all gorgeous and we loved just wandering around them all. We both used the spa for massage which was what we needed after the souk and indeed seemed very popular with all guests. We dined in 2 nights and the food was delicious. I certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted Morrocan character, lovely food and convenience.
