A gorgeous property with every amenity imaginable, most of all the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Immaculately clean. Not a single wrong note about the place. I can't say enough good things about it.

We booked a long weekend package via Luxury Link, after having read amazing review of this Riad here on Trip Advisor. Let me promise you - this Riad is everything everyone has posted - and more!

Our package included round trip transfers from and to the airport, a day trip to the High Atlas mountains, a ½ day tour of Marrakesh, dinner for two on one evening, and a welcome basket of fruits and bottle of champagne.

We booked a long weekend package via Luxury Link, after having read amazing review of this Riad here on Trip Advisor. Let me promise you - this Riad is everything everyone has posted - and more! This riad is a beautiful oasis – and definitely worth every penny! This is one of the few Riads in Marrakesh (I believe there are only 6) that are owned by Moroccans.

Our package included round trip transfers from and to the airport, a day trip to the High Atlas Mountains, a ½ day tour of Marrakesh, dinner for two on one evening, all non-alcoholic drinks and a welcome basket of fruits and bottle of champagne.

Every email communication we had with the hotel was promptly replied to, in excellent English.

We arrived late on a Thursday evening. It took over an hour to get through passport control, and we were concerned about the driver who was waiting for us. When we finally got finished and came out to the arrivals hall, we were warmly welcomed by our driver, who smiled and insisted it was no problem that he had to wait for us for so long. He also asked us if we needed an ATM before heading to the hotel, and showed us the ATM’s in the arrivals hall. He proudly talked about the city during our short drive to the hotel, pointed out some of the sites along the way and explained that the King had just been visiting for Ramadan.

When we arrived at the hotel, it is a short walk from where the car must park to the Riad. Here, we were again met warmly by the staff and taken to the hotel. Expecting the "standard" check-in, we were completely surprised! We were welcomed in a way that made us feel like we were visiting a friend or family. We were shown to a lounge room with beautiful decoration and brought mint tea and pastries while they took the necessary passport information, etc. We were then walked through the details of our package, and decided when we wanted to take the day trips, have dinner, etc. We asked if they had opened the bottle of champagne yet, because since neither of us drink, they should keep it. We were immediately told that we should have something as a replacement, then! Expecting them to ask if we would like a bottle of Cola or water or tea, we were very surprised when we were offered massages instead!

When the formalities were finished, we were offered a tour of the Riad. We declined, as we were very tired, so we were shown to our room. We had Senior Suite Sultan – a ground floor suite. The suite consisted of a beautiful sitting room, with gorgeous Moroccan furnishings, and a 42” LG TV. The bedroom had a huge bed and was also beautifully furnished. The bathroom had a separate toilet, nice closet and bathtub (with both great water pressure and plenty of hot water).

The next morning, we were able to really take in the Riad for the first time. I cannot even begin to describe the beauty of this Riad. Just let me say that around every corner, there was something even more beautiful and calming. The carvings on the walls, the intricate wood work, the soft colors, soft lighting, the sound of running water... I could go on and on!

Even though our suite was ground floor, we were never disturbed by noise outside the room. The staff move quietly through the Riad, and our entire stay was very peaceful.

Our entire stay was amazing. I am an early riser, and together with the 2 hour time difference, this meant I was waking up at 0500 on the first days (and my partner is a late sleeper). Each morning, I went out into the open-roofed courtyard with my laptop and worked quietly while listening to the sound of the water in the fountain and enjoying the company of two beautiful sparrows who regularly checked to see if I had anything for them – even being so bold as to land on the top of my laptop screen! I was never sitting there for more than 5 minutes before someone realised I was there and brought me a pot of hot tea (which they happily refilled every time they realised it was empty).

Breakfast is served whenever and wherever you would like it (on the roof top terrace, in one of the lounges or in your room). The table is first beautifully set, and then they come with the food. It was far more food that the two of us could eat. Each morning there were eggs (cooked differently each day), crepes, “pancakes”, and a corn bread of sorts, plus yogurt, corn flakes, a selection of jams, honey, and spreadable cheese, and fruit. But the thing I looked forward to each morning was the freshly squeezed orange juice! We never ate lunch during our entire stay, since breakfast was so big. We were also able to get tea or water anytime we wanted – just ask, and it was there within minutes.

Our dinner for two was also absolutely amazing. The starters were so tasty, that by the time the main course came, we were already stuffed. The food was excellent, and was a very nice way to taste an array of Moroccan dishes. We were very glad we had this huge meal in our room, as we had to lie down afterwards!

The tours arranged by the hotel were also amazing.

We had our ½ day tour of Marrakesh on Friday. We were not certain if this would be ok or not, since it was not only Friday, but also since Ramadan had just ended and most people still had vacation. But it was no problem at all. Our guide spoke excellent English, and was able to ask all our questions. It was definitely a good idea to do this tour on the first day after arriving, as it can be difficult to find your way at first, and there are not many markings or signs pointing the way to the sites in the old city. Our guide spent 4 hours with us, and I think we walked 10 km! We were not quite ready to return to the hotel afterwards, so he pointed in the general direction of the hotel and said good-bye to us by the main square. When we headed back to the hotel, we managed to get completely lost and turned around… but ended up meeting some very nice and helpful people along the way, and finding a nice local restaurant for dinner where we had amazing tagines.

We had our trip to the High Atlas Mountains on Saturday. Again, the hotel had arranged an amazingly warm and friendly guide who spoke perfect English. The mountains are beautiful, and our guide proudly told us about the initiatives the current King has taken to ensure the Berber villages had clean water, electricity and schools. Again, everyone we met was warm and kind, and not as pushy as in many other destinations.

On our leaving day, we asked to have breakfast at 0600, due to an early flight. This was also no problem at all, and yet another beautiful breakfast arrived promptly to our door.

If you are traveling to Marrakesh, this is definitely the place to stay!

This hotel and staff is fantastic! So incredibly friendly and the food is AMAZING! The Riad is beautiful and spotless. My friends and I enjoyed a Hammam in their spa area, had numerous meals in the gorgeous decorated rooms off the main lobby area as well as the roof top deck. This will be the only place that i stay when i come back to Marrakech.

Stayed here in mid April 2011 - wonderful service, right from the pick up at the airport to the welcome drink (nice cold beer) - and the service continued throughout our four day stay.
Our room was the Suite Loubana – spacious, comfortable, quiet (on the second floor). Amazing quiet bearing in mind the noise of the bustling area outside.
Breakfast served anytime – we took ours on the roof under the shade of the comfortable Gazebos provided. In fact the roof is the ideal place to spend the afternoons just lazing with a book.
We did take a sumptuous evening meal as well for one night (special night also as it was my wife’s birthday). The meal was excellent (along with the wine) and was included in the three / four day special package (this is a must, includes transfers, a nice spa session, trip to the Atlas Mountains etc).
Nice swimming pool – courtyards – wonderful building.
Overall the welcome at the Riad Kniza can rarely be bettered – and as it is situated within the Medina exploring Marrakech is right on the doorstep. Highly recommended and we will be back.

I stayed here with my daughter after a month of travelling around Morocco. The staff just can't do enough for you even in the middle of the night! The breakfast is huge and delicious and served wherever and whenever you want it, the environment is absolutely stunning. You just can't go wrong, and given that so much is included in the price it is not expensive for this level of quality.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful.

All the other reviews are spot on. You will not find a better place to stay in Marrakech. Service was exceptional, food was great, breakfast were huge and Hamman was great.

It's worth spending a bit more to stay here not a bad word to stay.

An oasis of calm in the Medina!

There isn't a soul in the world I know that wouldn't soak in the Riad Kniza experience and leave even slightly unhappy. Mohammed and Co. are bar-none the most accommodating hosts I have met. It was a pleasure to stay in every sense of the word. From the initial tour of the facilities by the family, to the personal tour of the Souks and surrounding Medina of Marrakech by Mohammed himself, the welcome was far better than I could have imagined. My favorite experience in Morocco was by far the food, and this Riad almost convinced not to try anywhere else. I still dream of their preparation and presentation. When we were ready to venture out, Mohammed picked the finest restaurants for us, and when we were stumped for a day's activiites, he'd send us to the pool for an hour and come find us with his full itinerary. For a day in, relaxing in the Riad's private Hammam was unbeatable, and unforgettable. As Mohammed stated so accurately, "You'll go in a man, and come out a baby!" The experience here really nailed the trip home as my absolute favorite vacation, and my last days there were spent planning my next visit. It's the type of place you'll return to with a new set of people, just to share with them one of the world's greatest, hidden gems.
