We recently spent four days here. Riad Kniza offers a rare combination of an authentic and deeply civilized home, with the best characteristics of a luxury hotel discreetly and consistently present. The classically Moroccan surroundings are impressive on entering, but it takes a day or two to take in the special atmosphere of the place and notice the care taken with the smallest details of the interior.
On a practical level, the pool is big enough to swim in and our bathroom was lovely.
All the staff were hospitable, professional yet very much themselves. We were very fortunate to have our request for flexibility over their no children policy met and our six year old was also made to feel very welcome.
The cooking was so outstanding and varied that we ate every meal there apart from one away from Marrakech, knowing that it couldn't be any better. It was not necessary to take several courses every night, it just took a quick chat in the morning to help us plan what suited us that day.
All this would have been wonderful anywhere, but it was a perfect antidote to the overwhelming colour and chaos of Marrakech just outside the door. The guides and drivers provided by the hotel were excellent too.
As others have said, this is a remarkable place, which by any standards goes beyond the call of duty in all respects.More
