We selected this Riad on the strength of the reviews on this site and were not at all disappointed. The staff were as attentive as you could wish, obliging, charming and polite, organising restaurant reservations, trips and transportation with efficiency. A quiet haven amongst the hubbub of the medina we particlarly enjoyed the truly enormous breakfasts on the roof terrace. The Riad is well located with most locations being within easy walking distance. The only downside for us was the noise from the local street market to this admittedly light sleeper, but that was part of the experience!

We arrived at the hotel after an unsatisfactory trekking experience, so were hoping to have our spirits revived by Riad Kniza. We were not disappointed! The hotel is perfect in every respect: the food, the accommodation, the service, everything really. The dinner we had in the hotel was quite spectacular, and though not cheap by Moroccan standards cost no more than a good pub dinner in the UK. The hotel owner is a great character and incredibly obliging. Before we knew who he was, he personally came out of the medina to get us a taxi on our first evening. Marrakech is quite a challenging place, but the hotel made everything as easy as possible.

We had the most wonderful time in Riad Kniza during Christmas. We loved the staff who is extremely kind and very helpful. This Riad is a beautiful pearl and quiet spot in the hectic of the Medina. The room was nicely decorated and very tastfull and the breakfast is unbelievable! Especially sitting in the sun on the roof terras..

This is more than a hotel, it is an experience of a lifetime. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly and enviroment is absolutely royal. The staff is kind, attentive and offer help with anything you wish for, from scrambled eggs to home made cake at any hour of the day.
We had the pleasure of staying in three different rooms and found them all equally charming and seductively beautiful. The hammam ls unmissable.
We can warmly reccomend this hotel with all our hearts.

We stayed at Riad Kniza for 3 nights to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Having read previous reviews, our expectations were very high, but I'm pleased to report that we weren't disappointed in the slightest. The consistency of great reviews for this place is definitely justified and well-deserved.

The airport transfer service was very smooth and without any hitch in either direction. For anyone visiting Marrakech, especially for the 1st time, this is an important facility.

We treated ourselves to staying in the Royal Bahia suite which can only be described as sumptuous. Acres of space, beautiful furniture, absolutely peaceful - a million miles from the usual hotel suite and definitely worth the additional cost. With the shutters closed, the room is pitch-black dark and, combined with the near silence, very condusive to a getting a really good night's sleep. The early-morning call to prayer and awakening of the birds in the courtyard cause but the slightest notion of daybreak - my wife was worried that she might not wake until at least lunchtime!

On arrival we explained to the Riad staff that we wanted to experience a variety of restaurants in Marrakech during our stay so would only eat in the Riad on one evening. They were nonetheless very happy to suggest & book a table at La Maison Arabe for our first night, which turned out to be a great recommendation. We ate in the Riad on the 2nd night and then went to Dar Moha on the 3rd. The food quality and quantity in Riad Kniza is definitely equal to these other specialist & well-known places and shouldn't be missed. I would have to say that the pool-side setting at Dar Moha perhaps edged the overall experience purely due to the ambience. Going at this time of year, however, meant it wasn't warm enough to eat on the Riad Kniza roof terrace, which I'm sure would have been a wonderful experience to rival Dar Moha.

If you like a glass of wine, don't be put off by the lack of a wine list - the Riad serves perfectly acceptable Moroccan wine at a very reasonable price (other restaurants seem to charge quite a lot more, especially for non-Moroccan wine) - so no major unexpected surprises at checkout.

The Riad experience is pretty unique and may take a little getting used to for some travellers. Even though Riad Kniza is a reasonable size in the scheme of things - I think there's 11 suites - the place still felt very quiet and peaceful. A great oasis from the hussle and bussle of Marrakech. The staff are very attentive and yet absolutely discreet and courteous.

In terms of location, Riad Kniza is conveniently located near Bab Doukala, towards the edge of the medina. Routes into and out of the main tourist attractions - the 'Big Square' and Soukhs - soon become familiar and we had no difficulty in getting to and from the Riad at all. Access to the 'new' town and Majorelle gardens is also very easy.

My last words have to be to mention the owners. I think this Riad has been in the same Moroccan family for around 200 years and was completely refurbished a few years ago. The fact that the refurbishment took 3 years demonstrates the level of work involved and commitment of the family to achieve the highest possible standards. The Riad is now a superb blend of retention of original features combined with 'mod-cons' and a wonderful testimony to their endeavour.

I recently stayed at Zniza for 4 days with a friend and it was such a relaxing place to stay, the Riad is decorated beautifully and it's such a oasis to walk in to from the chaos of outside, very good location, close to Souks and 20 minute walk to main square, also walking distance to the Majorelle Gardens. The staff at the Riad were so accommodating and any request or question was answered with a smile. We had dinner here most nights and the food was gorgeous, in some ways it is a pleasure to just order dinner and not have to choose and know you will be served up something delicious! Also, breakfast and coffee on the roof terrace is a delight, again so so relaxing and calm with just the sound of birds and the call for prayer. We also used the spa which was another treat. I can't recommend this Riad enough, a real joy.

We stayed here almost a year ago for my wife's significant birthday, only for a few nights, and would have wanted to stay longer. The hospitality was generous, easy, courteous, Marrakech so vibrant and atmospheric. We could not book into the same room for all 4 nights, but on the day we were to move were upgraded to the best in the house!! Our case fell apart in transit, and the hotel found us a replacement at an excellent price. It was just so authentic in the old quarter, and so near to the centre. Excellent guided trips. We want to go back!
