“Marrakesh's Best kept Secret”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

We loved this Riad. Not only was the place beautifully decorated and tastefully done but there was amazing attention to detail which as an interior designer you get to appreciate. The service of the staff was excellent and the food exceptional. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and arranged everything we asked of them. They spoke several languages including Arabic so made sure our taxis and excursions were carried out professionally and without the stress of having to haggle for everything.
I will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending this Wonderful Riad.

When you go to Marrakesh you know you will be taken out of your western comfort zone: Hustle, bustle, haggle and how on earth will you get through that traffic to the other side of that road?
This is one of the reasons we go there, otherwise I am sure you could find a nice Centre Parc somewhere..
Still, we were traveling with our family, including two little girls(11 and 9), a place of respite was essential. And did we find it!
The rabbit warren of the medina may be mayhem(in a good way!) but the moment you step through the heavy wooden door of the Riad Hikaya tranquility, peace and supreme comfort rule.
Beautifully appointed, swimming pool, jacuzzi and the sunny patio on the roof, all is yours to enjoy. Attention to detail is amazing, our hosts attended to all our wishes without ever being intrusive.
The breakfast was a wonderful, long drawn out affair but you do not have to have all seven or eight courses...
Food: we did eat at the Riad three times, excellent moroccan food and wine and they even rustled some burgers for the girls.
Even splitting hairs, I can not find a single thing to moan about, which is(according to my family) as rare as hens teeth...

This Riad defiantly has the WOW factor!! it has not been there very long which we noticed when we were trying to locate the Riad none of the locals had heard of the Riad so i would recommend booking a transfer with the Riad which is cheap enough. It is about 10 minutes walk from the Medina/Souks which is a lovely walk as you get to experience walking past the kings palace. The staff are very friendly and helpfull and not forgetting to mention the owners John and Jane they are very welcoming and take the time out to settle you in and listen to how your journey went. We were lucky enough to have breakfast on the roof terrace as the weather was so nice which we loved! i have nothing bad to say about this Riad. We would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Marrkech.

Room Tip: The Hubb room is located on the ground floor, great size and even though it is located on the ground...

We were two couples and we spent 3 nights at the riad; our stay has been simply perfect!
John and Jane are fantastic hosts and you feel at home as of the first moment.
Rooms are cosy and nicely decorated in pure Moroccan style.
Breakfasts are delicious and the staff discreet but always present anywhere when you need them.
The beds are sooo comfortable and you really enjoy them after a long walk in the souk!
Thanks John and Jane, it has been a pleasure meeting you and if we come back to Marrakech we will definitely come back to see you!

We were fortunate enough to stumble across this beautiful riad and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It was the only place we stayed in morocco where we were completely sheltered from the outside noise of the streets. The attention to detail extended from the beautiful decor to the exceptional service we received.
The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the breakfast was fit for a king!
Thank you to John, Jane and Loubna for making our stay very memorable!
Also, the cake you organised for my birthday was absolutely delicious! Any idea where we could get one in the UK?!

Thanks to the owners and staff of this Riad we had a gentle, funny and very insightful introduction to Marrakech and Moroccan culture. They organised everything, from carriage rides and guided tours to the purchase of sweets... We only stayed two nights but will hopefully be back to this place of true hospitality - insha'Allah.

Even though Marrakesh wasn't really a highlight of my morocco trip, Riad Hikaya definitely was!
On top of that, Jane and John were awesome hosts who know exactly how a real Riad should be run. Great experience.
