This Hotel is family run with a large , friendly, yet discreet staff. Set in beautiful formal gardens the main house is cool and airy. Furnished and decorated in local style it evokes a wonderful exotic arab atmosphere. Our room comprised a villa in the grounds.
Large, spacious with full heating/aircon. The sitting room had a fireplace with ample supply of logs. Comfortable seating, a large flat screen TV with dvd player. DVDs at no cost from reception. Double bedroom off and 2 very spacious bathrooms. Our well tended, private walled garden included a large hot tub. We took some meals on our own terrace at no extra cost.
Evening meals were ordered after breakfast and prepared just for us. K took a free moroccan cooking lesson in the kitchen one afternoon whilst I enjoyed the hotel's Hamam and Spa treatments. There is a large heated swimming pool in the grounds, several private follys and temples to enjoy and aviaries of singing birds. A fish pond with large koy and fountains.Quite stunning. Two large people carriers are on permanent standby to take you the 10 minutes to town or to and from the airport. One phone call and the vehicle is there in minutes to take you back .All included.
The staff are charming, friendly and keen to help yet neither intrusive nor condescending.

My husband and i went to this hotel start of Feb10 and we wanted to have a special experience and we did. This was our second honeymoon and it didnt disappoint, the free shuttle was a fab addition and made everything we wanted to do easy and hassle free. The place its self is a one off and we want to go back and take the whole family next time as it felt like home. The staff were wonderful, and we so sincere in the way that they treated you and the special touches like the way the tables were set and fire lit etc were wonderful. The hotel owner Stephane was such a lovely relaxed guy and he made the effort to see us every day, Aziz the manager is so good at what he does he is amazing, nothing too much trouble, in fact thats how all the staff were. We enjoyed morocco but enjoyed our stay at this villa more. We ran out of cigarettes when we arrived, we mentioned this to Aziz and 30 mins later we had our cigarettes, this is just one example of how great everyone was. The pictures of this venue dont do it enough justice as there is so much more to this place, bird sanctuary, pond with koi carp, wildlife in the lush gardens, and cactus plants that were amazing then the authenticity of each room, totally wondefu oh and 24 hour room servicel. We will definitely be back with more of our family. Thank you so much for the memories.

We picked this hotel based on most of the other reviews - and were utterly satisfied with out stay. It's worth saying at the beginning (as someone may have mentioned in their review but I didn't pay enough attention) that you CAN NOT spend any of your surplus Dirhams in Marrakech airport - expect for Marrakech wine - so try to spend them all as the airport only take Euros.
During our stay at Dar Anyiwen, all of the staff were consistently friendly, polite and very helpful and equally gave us plenty of our own space so we had freedom. The hotel was clean, quiet, decadent and I would defnitely recommend it for a splurgy break.
The taxi is a real bonus making travelling so much easier.
We did eat in the hotel a couple of nights but I would say don't be afraid to eat in the city in the stalls as naturally it's a lot better value for money - was really tasty and importantly - we had no after effects ;-). This is quite an expensive hotel (meals per person were around £40 without wine), but as we were on our honeymoon we were happy to treat ourselves and would love to return one day.

To stay at Dar Ayniwen is to be treated as a very special and valued house guest with an excellent management and staff team in place of a host. Peace and tranquility reign, and for us we felt for much of the time that we were the only guests - perhaps we were given the time of year. The suites and the public areas of this house remain furnished in the style chosen by the owner of Dar Ayniwen, from when it was the home for his family a number of years ago, but with sympathetic upgrades providing the high international standard required by discerning guests.

Breakfast is served on the sunny poolside, a little chilly in early December (though I daresay they would serve you your breakfast wherever).

We swam in the outdoor heated pool - just a little chilly too - and enjoyed the spacious gardens.

A wood open fire brings a cosy ambience to the dining room for dinner, and afterwards we lit our own fire in our suite. We enjoyed relaxing by night in our own little garden with its bubbling hot tub surrounded by candle lit lanterns, open to the moon and stars above.

Travel in and out of the city centre was by chaffeur driven minibus at times chosen by us. Our drivers were punctual, quiet, and polite.

Aziz, the manager, made sure we knew where we were going, suggested itineries and places for lunch or dinner. All his recommendations were good.

If you want to be a number one house guest instead of just another visitor at an impersonal hotel, then I recommend a stay at Dar Ayniwen.

We stayed for four nights, probably the longest you would want to spend in Marrakech, perfect for a winter sunshine break.
