Went in this hotel for a week begining of december 13 and we really enjoyed the hotel
Great location and staff was very helpful & friendly
Breakfast is very good with FRESH ORANGE juice and chef doing your choice of Omelets or eggs every morning.
Spa was closed but hotel arranged the free access to the hotel next door which is the same owner, and we loved the PEARK SPA ....very good with the most amazing indoor pool I ever seen in an hotel!
the roof terrace is also enjoyable to take some sun during the day;
Recomand this place.

After staying a weekend at this hotel, we may say we have experienced the most personalized service we ever encountered in a hotel. Due to certain unpredictable issues faced throughout the trip, we were fully embraced by the very friendly and dedicated concierge of Hivernage, who enabled us to make the best out of our remaining stay. We can only recommend you to experience this outstanding staff & service and great hotel for yourself during your next trip to Marrakesh!

Well, we stayed here fro a week (Nov 21 onward) and had a great time. We agree 100% with "tillie12gardner" below and do not recognise "Louise S" experience at all. If you can afford to eat at the Mamounia then stay in a more expensive hotel! All hotels nearby are lovely but large and expensive.
we did indeed like the Sofitel outside area by the pool but it is a very large hotel with many rooms (prices on line not too expensive perhaps).. The EES Saaudi Palace (note:not hotel) looks very nice indeed but quiet and classy.. At Hivernage we especially liked the masses of shower hot water and the quality of staff service -reception were very good, and Security always smiled, opened doors and offered umbrellas. Room was large with good bed, and in November road side was not noisy. A bit of banging noise from inside hotel at night. Do not know from where. The Pool area is not big but fine as long as you know about it before! In November we had sun and shade by pool. Roof has great view and nice hotel opposite has fabulous roof pool. This location is perfect -a quick stroll into town if you want. Many other hotels are that much further away and much larger. We paid £2-3 for each taxi trip (20-30DH) and only met 2 taxis using Meters! We would stay here again. We have visited M'Kech many times in most months.
FOOD: Breakfast is fine, excellent breads and rolls, pastries, fruits etc and lots of everything. Not rushed or crowded at all. (Sofitel at weekend breakfast was very crowded).OK no decaf coffee but is that a sin?. Hivernage CAFE and Restaurant always active and good value -(with people from Sofitel and Saudi?). We ate well here and having the Cafe downstairs was very useful. Great service in both places. Good staff.

Room Tip: A higher floor should take you away from any perceived noise. Depends on time of year (ie heat).

We had travelled around a bit and also stayed in the medina before coming to Hotel Hivernage for our last night. It was the first time we have stayed in such a modern western style hotel in Morocco and made a huge contrast to our trip. The hotel is nice, the rooms are spacious and nice enough but our only issue was the very strong smell of chemical cleaning products throughout the room, hallway and bathroom and the washing powder smell on the sheets, which smelt very intensely of chemicals, we had to constantly air the room to try and get the smells out. It is possibly done to make people think the rooms are 'really clean' but in fact it made us feel sick and being a lover of organic lifestyles I was concerned about sleeping in such a chemical cocktail. Also, there wasn't enough hot water for the bath or showers... it was tepid at best... It was a shame because we would have otherwise loved it completely. We didn't eat breakfast after reading the tripadvisor reviews about how it wasn't good and instead we walked to La Mamounia and had a buffet breakfast which was incredible.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room to the side as the main road is very noisy and polluted

My friend & I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hivernage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large & comfortable, bathrobes & slippers etc. provided, excellent free Wi-Fi and BBC News channel available on TV. We stayed on B&B basis and the breakfast buffet offered enough choices that would keep most people happy. As we were there for a short time, we only ate dinner at the hotel on one evening as we wanted to try others, it was very good, reasonably priced and is also obviously popular with others judging by the number of guests each evening. Unfortunately the Spa was closed for renovation during our stay but arrangements had been made for guests to use the facilities at The Pearl hotel opposite (which has a fabulous rooftop pool terrace & excellent Japanese restaurant) The pool is probably the only disappointing aspect of the Hivernage as it shaded most of the day, it is such a pity there is not some kind of 'dip' pool on the roof which affords lovely views of Marrakech. We found the staff to be welcoming & helpful, a particular mention to Saeed on reception (forgive me if misspelt) she was always smiling & happy to help. The location is also excellent for most places one would one to visit. I would happily stay again.

Room Tip: I had a balcony room on the busier road side of the hotel but it was nice to watch the 'comings...

This is a very average hotel. Breakfast is bland, plumbing is suspect, and spa is based in another hotel.

It is next to the nightclub Silver, which seems to attract a large number if 'working girls' but during the daytime the area is presented as more polished.

I did get the opportunity to pop to the Sofitel, where James Bond wouldn't look out of place. Will try that if ever I return. This is not a 5 star hotel.

(60 min hammam followed by 60 mins massage cost us in the region of £80)

This is the second stay in as many years. seems to be getting worse and worse.

The rooms are getting darker and the check process is getting longer.

I was also shocked at how much the pool attendant was staring at one of the ladies who was swimming. I did not know her but I was actually cringing!

Also the bar staff are always hanging around the bar counter, they are not proactive about offering a further drink, something to eat. You always have to go searching for someone!

There was no holder for the shower head and no shower curtain so I managed to spray water everywhere each time I had a shower, thankfully there were plenty of towels for me to use to mop up!
