We were quite disappointed with the riad as it seemed to be really confortable and cosy on the pictures but was actually quite average. The pool isn't actually a pool but more of a "basin". The room was very small and the bathroom smell pretty bad.
The staff was welcoming but never the same.
The food was good (breakfast and diner).
All in all I would say not to trust the pictures, it's not as beautiful as it looked.

The riad is right in the medina of Marrekech where you can't find easily if you dont get a guidance from the hotel staff.

The city is very busy and crowded with motorcycles, parking lots, narrow streets and markets so you will need a guidance to reach the riad.

The place is just okay with simple breakfast. But the spa seems good looking at many people used the service.

This riad was incredible from booking to checking out: prior to arriving, the hotel sent useful information and was able to arrange for airport transfers and an excursion. It was all hassle-free and the cost was just added to the bill which was settled at the end of the trip.

We had a hammam and massage in the riad which was excellent and it was worth booking in advance because advance bookings attracted a 10% discount.

All of the staff at the riad were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mentions have to go to Momen, Ibrahim and Youssef who were all exceptional in terms of customer service and friendliness. It was my husband's birthday and I asked for a cake to be arranged: the cake was lovely and the riad made it extra special by adding little touches such as rose petals on the table and the staff singing happy birthday in Arabic and French.

This is a lovely riad and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone considering a trip to Marrakech. Worth the 5 stars!

We booked in at reception for treatments and when we came back to the Riad at the arranged time, the courtyard area/ Spa was full of men hammering and we were told our appointment was in another place. It was funny as we had actually been shown this as the location of the Spa when we checked in- no mention of it then as closing for the weekend. The Spa that staff brought us too was good but my sister had less treatments booked than me and had to hang around there instead of being able to go back to our room or the roof terrace. Should have been told at the beginning. Was another Spa right beside we could have booked. Nicer places to eat nearby than this Raids restaurant. Twin beds not available, you will get a double and sofa bed. Other issue with our room was noise from dinning area, people arriving as soon as breakfast served. The shutter in our window would not stay closed on windy nights. But hey its a Riad not hotel, found it to be clean with lovely rooftop view. No more difficult to find than most Riads in Marrakech.

Riad Dar El Aila is in a great location within the Old Medina. Word of advice, book your initial transfer from airport with hotel as tricky to find first time round. It's also very close to everything that you can walk everywhere, but far enough from the busyness that you do t hear the Mosques at pray time.
Within a 20 min stroll you are right in Jemaa el fnaa, & walking distance to the Majorelle gardens.

The staff are fantastic, very helpful and polite. There ended up being some last minute work being done which cause a little bit of noise but they were very apologetic & we were visiting just before their busy period started, so I appreciate these things have to be done at some point.

Having your breakfast on the rooftop in the sun whilst looking at snowcapped Atlas Mountains in great, & you will not go hungry with the breakfast feast they put on for you.

The spa is also worth doing! Go for the full on hamman treatment followed by the 1 hour massage, skin felt amazing after the black soap and scrub. We After all our walking we booked a second massage for our departure day.

Enjoy your stay.
