the riad doesn't have staff 24h, a guy comes in an out through the day. when we finally arrived we have to wait for almost an hour. We were lucky that some other guest opened us the door.

the are also a lot of cockroaches in the kitchen and rooms.

Reviewed 24 April 2013

We (me and my girlfriend) stayed in this riad for 2 nights just last week.

We had booked the riad for being one of the cheaper ones and still looked nice.

The riad was actually nicer than I expected: the bathroom was relatively new and very clean and the room was also very nice. We had breakfast in the "patio" of the riad which was very relaxed and enjoyable. The riad also has a roof terrasse where you can take the sun or have a beer.

We were overall very happy just a few comments, more for your awareness than anything else:
- the riad is not easy to find: either insist they send you a detailed map (I think it's entering thge medina at the right space and then turning right 3 or 4 times) or ask them to pick you up or (as we did) pay the local children a small tip to take you (we paid 5 MAD which they thought was too low, hey it was 2 min work for them, but in the end they accepted).
- Secondly, we went on a 3-day excursion with a tour company that we got in touch with via the riad's owner. The tour was great (young people, which we appreciated) but be aware that directly booking is always somewhat cheaper (we paid 90 EUR per person instead of the 80 EUR those paid who booked directly). However, we were aware and happy to pay this little extra to make sure our tour was nice - which it was!

Overall, good service, nice rooms and the location only about 10 min walk from the main place of the medina.

Would be happy to go back!

Not only a cosy riad with a refreshing small pool (which youre going to LOVE if its 48 degrees celsius). Charming hosts (thanks Omar, his wife and Ahmed), good service and assistance in anything you might possibly need while in Marrakech. And if you get invited to a small apéro, do not hesitate and go. ça commence petit et ça devient grand! choukran!

We traveled with another couple. Had two rooms. Both very nicely decorated, spacous and clean. Breakfast wonderful. Staff extremely accomodating. Need to use a computer and they sent us to their sister Riad which was just as nice. You won't be disappointed. Would definately return. And I will return to Morocco. Wonderful vacation.

Overall, we had a fine stay at the Riad Julia. Our host was very helpful and acommodating, and the breakfast was delicious. The room was pretty small and stuffy (but clean), and the riad is a little off the beaten path.

Riad Julia is a very nice Riad located very close to the center of Marrakesh (10 minutes walking to Djelma El Fna and 5 minutes to Suq) within the walls.
We went for two days, the rooms are very special with typical furnishings and the staff is very helpful and polite, you can choice the breakfast and the place where eat (terrace or patio).
Everything was really perfect, we strongly suggest.
