Very nice hotel, just 23 suites and ours was spacious and very well equipped.
The pool was perfect for lounging around, the breakfasts were excellent and the staff very accomodating.
It is in the Palmeraie area so its a 15 min taxi ride into the medina for €10 but that didnt pose any real problem, the hotel would provide their own car for the outward journey, and you could then enjoy the bumpy ride back in a the small local taxis.
Very good value and a lovely setting.

Firstly, i am not sure if someone rubbed the reviewers up the wrong way or they just didnt like it........but we had a lovely time.

The hotel car was waiting for us upon arrival at marrakech airport and the journey time was 25mins to the hotel.

Having read some of the reviews i was very sceptical if not thinking about re-booking the accomodation because of what people have said.

The main hotel was beautiful, very luxurious......fountains with rose petals, main pool area was lovely with many sun loungers and PLENTY of towels......but if they had run out then one of the staff would happily supply more if needed.

The room we have was lovely, large bedroom with flatscreen TV and two sofa's......very clean and the aircon was adequate for the room, bathroom was lovely.....double sink and bath. Ok so there is no hook to hang the shower attachment......big deal.

The staff where very attentive and always onhand to help you in anyway.....the maids would visit in the morning.......then also in the evening as a turn down service.

The only one problem i have with the hotel is the price of the food and drink......it is very expensive which in my eyes puts people off drinking there.....if only they reduced the prices then more people would eat at the hotel. 30EUR for a bottle of wine we could get for 195DIHRAM (£16) in a very nice restaurant.....Grande Cafe De La Poste.

The hotel car was always available to take you in the evening and during the day to your destination and very resonable at EUR10......if you rather not the hassle of a scary local taxi.

Please Please.......do not be discouraged by other reviews......the hotel is lovely, it is nice to be out of town with the medina so crazy busy......you can relax in the peaceful surroundings.....with attentive staff. My feelings are someone has a vendeta against the hotel as i did not see it as they had written it.

From the minute we arrived at the airport at 1.30am in the morning (delayed by over 3 hours thanks to Air Maroc) until our departure we were taken good care of by the hotel drivers and staff and were made to feel most welcome - nothing was too much trouble.

Whilst it is only right to point out that there are some limitations to the facilities and some renovations are definitely well over-due (for example our bathroom fittings were old and didn't work especially well - and it would have been good to have a proper shower and shower curtain not just a bath with shower attachment) we were, overall, very pleased with our suite, the common rooms, pool and gardens. Our suite overlooked the garden, consisting of a good sized sitting room, a large bedroom and a bathroom (bath only) was very clean upon arrival and was kept clean by the attentive staff throughout our stay, as were the common rooms, pool and gardens. There were nice touches, such as fresh rose petals in fountains and scattered in our room on our arrival.

We were lucky enough to benefit from a promotional rate for the hotel and we considered it to be very good value for money. The hotel's management is clearly in the process of generally renovating and up-grading this hotel and there are some newer suites outside of the "old" part of the hotel which, from the outside at least, seemed pleasant - if less characterful. We did not sample dinner in the hotel as we chose to eat out in the Medina but we overheard other guests at breakfast commenting that the food was fine though expensive. Breakfast, included in the rate, whilst not overly imaginative was plentiful.

The common rooms with their art and antique furniture, the ample pool and established gardens were lovely, much better than we had anticipated - we would have made much more use of them had this not been our first trip to Marrakesh. A hammam was advertised but we failed to locate it (for those looking for a spa / hammam we highly recommend Les Bains de Marrakesh).

The only real drawbacks were the cost of food / drink in the hotel (cans of soft drink E4 each and cocktails E10 each and of varying quality) and the length of journey to the Medina. It was fine to get into town in the hotel's people-carriers with their very courteous drivers (at a fixed cost of 10E per trip) but coming back to the hotel we had to rely on local less comfortable taxis between 100dh (daytime) and 150dh (nighttime).

We would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful break away from it all but with relatively easy access to one of the most amazing cities in the world! But please don't come expecting a European business class level of 5*!

This is a well run out of town hotel with lovely quiet Salons, large pleasant rooms and a large cool pool. Reviewers that complain of heat should have noted that they were travelling to inland Morocco in August before they left....

Our airconditioning was efficient, despite 49' temperatures. Our food was very good (despite it being Ramadan) and the service attentive and pleasant. The hotel was clean and well kept, the grounds well maintained and the pool was a pleasure. It is out of town by about 10 minutes so allow for taxi/hotel car rides in and out.

Marrakech is an exotic hot and strange destination for people who do not want to experience a different culture. If you like the idea of a holiday inn then I suggest you find one. This was an absolute bargain with the Travel Zoo offer.

We booked a week in the Palais Mehdi as offered through travelzoo as deal. But what we saw really showed that they dont test their offers and I will never book anything from them again.

Up on arrival we were assigned to a superior suite for which however the air conditioning was not strong enought to cool both rooms as well as the WiFi was not working.
Later in the afternoon we even spotted a cockroach in our room and asked the reception for immediate change of the room. They told us, without any word of excuse, they will
make a "threatment" in our room, which consisted of a lady with a spray. As we didnt trust the "threatment" as well were not happy to stay in a room full of poision-dust, we
requested a room change. Despite they had several other large suites available, they downgraded us to small room with still no Wi-Fi, mold at the air condition cover, ceiling
and the bath-room window.
Still no word of excuse or anything, the hotel just did not care.
Our room had the "view over the Andalusian Basin" which was a mud hole with breeding mosqutios.
The Pool was over and over covered with moss, the border was partly defective and brown from dirt. The pool shower did not work and was covered with bird poo.
The sunbeds were dirty and partly had holes. The Pool was always cleanded between 9-12am. So Pool could not be used in the morning.
The towel rack at the pool was either empty or filled with about 2 towels for 30 guests.
The staff (from cleaner to director) did not speak any English. Most of the staff was neither responsive nor attentive. Staff was hiding most of the day to be not asked anyting by the guests.
The Transfer shuttle, which is necessary because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, was always at least 30 minutes late.

One day they billed us too much in the Restaurant and as we complaint the Hotel Director freaked out and shouted as us like crazy. At that time
we finally decided to check-out immediately, because we did neither feel comfortable nor save in this hotel anymore. This was really the worst hotel stay I ever had in my life.

My friends and I were so excited and looking forward to staying at this beautiful hotel, alas we were to be sadly disappointed by our treatment and the extremely poor customer service we received when we arrived.
Yes, granted it is a very beautiful and luxurious hotel (although please be advised that it is not completely finished yet) but it's beauty really does not compensate for the rude and aggressive manager (and staff).
When we arrived, our rooms (we booked 2 double rooms) were not ready, and to be honest I don't think they had 2 rooms available, despite taking a 50% deposit when we booked months earlier. We were left waiting in the blazing sun for several hours with no apology or offer of drinks apart from the initial welcome beverage - not what you need when you have had to stay up all night to catch an early morning flight. Every time we enquired as to when our rooms would be ready we were fobbed off until literally 3 hours had passed and our patience had long since frazzled in the blazing heat.
To cut a long story short, when we eventually managed to speak to the manager, he was rude, intimidating and aggressive (please bare in mind we were 4 females) and we decided that even if they were to provide us with their two most luxurious suites that they had to offer we were no longer prepared to stay there.
Needless to say this hotel made a tidy sum of money out of us as the manager refused to refund our deposit, which was totally gutting. We also literally lost the majority our first day of our long weekend in Marrakech due this hostel wasting our precious time. Thankfully we were able to book in to another hotel called Es Saadi which really was the best thing that could have happened to us - whilst the rooms weren't quite as beautifully decorated as Palais Mehdi (don't get me wrong, they were still very nice), nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the atmosphere at Es Saadi was lovely. The Palais Mehdi would do very well to contact Hotel Es Saadi for some customer service training! Steer well clear and please learn from our awful experience.

This was the worst experience of a hotel that i have ever had. We booked this hotel as a special offer and were confident after reading the reviews that we would not be disappointed, we couldn't have been more wrong. We arrived at the hotel in the blazing heat and we told our rooms would be ready in an hour, we waited in the heat, for approximately 3 hours (each time we asked about our rooms we were ignored or told it would be another 30 minutes). Eventually when our room was ready they had booked us a suite (1 bedroom and a lounge) for 4 of us to share. We had booked 2 rooms and given a deposit of 345 euros. The Manager was extemely rude, at one point i thought he may hit my friend, they refused to give us 2 rooms, or our money back and we were told by the staff that this is a common occurance. As four women travelling togeher this was very intimidating, he shouted at us and laughed when we said we would contact the Police. We decided to leave as did not feel safe staying there. It was a horrible experience, the staff took advantage of our good nature, and then gave us 1 room when i had the email evidence that i booked 2 rooms. Do not let the beauty of the hotel fool you, the service is terrible, do not stay here. The staff speak little English, are rude, there is not a Reception desk, (making it difficult to contact the staff)). The "gym" has 3 pieces of equipment in it. Also is situated in the middle of no where.
