Stayed here a few nights on recommendation of Tripadvisor reviews. The riad itself was what I expected a riad to be. Do not expect everything to be schmick, it is what it is....a riad. I paid for a basic room but was upgraded on my first two nights, perhaps due to my last minute booking through Booking.com. I extended my stay for another two nights booking directly with the owner of the riad and was moved to a smaller but equally pleasant room.
WIFI is mainly confined to the reception/dining courtyard area.
Breakfast was quite good with a choice of eggs accompanied with OJ, coffee/tea and sweet breads.
Staff are courteous and helpful, but, I would not say outstanding as generally described by other reviewers. I have had much better service in my travels. I noticed one of the staff fraternizing with two guests to their delight and encouragement. Not very professional, but, who am I to judge!
The riad is perfectly located in the heart of the kasbah and a short stroll to all major sites in the medina. The taxi driver had abit of trouble finding it at night (expect to pay approx MAD 25 to 30 from the train station at night). Note, there are only a couple of restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance from the riad. I found the Kasbah Café, located 1 min walk from the riad, was most notable for good food and service. Most restaurants can be found in the Jemaa el-Fnaa square approx. 10-15 mins walk from Riad Jonan.

Room Tip: Rooms near the dining room courtyard can get WIFI to some extent.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Riad Jonan, and like everyone else could not praise the staff or the food highly enough. The Riad has a really nice homely feel, due to it's size. Staff looked after us really well, providing advice on negotiating at the souks, booking trips and transport, and even escorting us to an argon oil co-operative we asked about nearby. Air conditioning in the bedrooms and the chance to unwind on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine at the end of a busy day was great, we ate dinner there twice as the food was so good. I would 100% stay there again if I was back in Marrakech

We had a thoroughly good time in Marrakesh although I did flag in the heat towards the end.
The staff at Riad Jonan were very helpful and friendly especially on our arrival with maps and tips on how to survive the offers of 'help' from locals. The room was small but clean and the food that we ordered was excellent. In fact it was some of the best food that we had during the whole trip.
The location was good- a steady 20 min walk to the Souks up the street of 1000 taxis!
Our airport transfer was fine except for going back to the airport when he was late but the staff did offer to drive us to the airport instead and we got there on time.
I would definitely recommend this Riad.

Just returned from a 5 day break with our friends and the Riad Jonan is the place to be. The staff are very good and attentive nothing is too much trouble from making sure you are ok to arranging taxis, trips etc. This Hotel is approximately 15 to 20 minute walk to the square and souks were it is a different world especially in the evening. Our flight was delayed and we were late arriving but Abdul found time to show us our rooms and even provided us with mint tea, coffee and sandwiches. Would have no hesitation in going back to this hotel and would certainly recommend

Me and my partner chose Riad Jonan for our accommodation whilst on holiday in Marrakech. I have to say the reviews were spot on and I genuinely don't have a bad word to say.

The staff are incredible; very helpful, curtious and comforting.

The Riad itself is in a perfect location as the souks/square are only around 20min walk. The rooms are comfortable, good sized and equipped with ac and good storage space. They are cleaned and serviced regularly.

Upon our arrival we were greeted with a smile and amazing mint tea. This great service lasted through the entire stay and someone is always available to help/cater.

The wide range of excursions are incredible. We went for the quad bike (would love to go again!), sahara desert 1 night and the hamman spa.

Overall if you are visiting Marrakech for a vacation this is the best place to stay, amazing value for money and service which does not depreciate like some other places I have been to.

A massive thank you from Hussain & Sophie who had the pleasure of staying in room Oulidad :)

Riad Jonan is a beautiful riad with lots of character and a lovely roof terrace in central Marrakech. However, the service does fall short at times which is a shame as if they improved on that, this would be a really special place to stay.

We had arranged an airport pick-up with the owner prior to arriving. We waited....and waited....and waited at Marrakech airport for a transfer which didn't arrive before making our own way to the riad. This wasn't a problem but we wasted time at the airport waiting for a non-existent transfer and when we arrived at the riad, we were told that the transfer had picked up some people who were going to Riad Jona by mistake - I find this hard to believe as our flight arrived 30 minutes early and we were waiting in arrivals all this time and at no point did we see any sign for 'Riad Jonan'. We were offered an upgrade which was a nice touch, but from reading other reviews it seems that it's not the first time that the riad has failed to organise an airport transfer and it makes you wonder why they bother to offer it if they can't fulfill on it.

We'd had an early flight from London and were leaving Marrakech early the next morning to go trekking in the Atlas mountains, therefore we had booked the Moroccan traditional dinner for our first night at 7.30pm. We went onto the roof terrace at 7pm for a pre-dinner drink and told the waiter that we were the people who'd booked the dinner for 7.30pm. By the time 8.30pm came and no sight of our food, my husband went downstairs to try and find it and was told they'd set a table for us downstairs despite us saying we were eating on the roof terrace. Again it wasn't a massive problem and the food when it arrived was absolutely fantastic, but it just felt like a lack of attention on customer service on their part.

We were leaving at 8am the following morning to go to the Atlas mountains and were told that they didn't start serving breakfast until 8am (I don't think I've stayed in a hotel anywhere in the world where they don't start serving breakfast until 8am!) but they could offer us a basic breakfast (and it was VERY basic!) - again I found this showed a lack of customer service as we'd paid for breakfast but were unable to get the full breakfast which we paid for.

All in all, it is a lovely riad to look at but there is definite room for improvement with their service.
