We stayed here at the beginning and end of our tour of Morocco with Encounters Travel. Good location for getting to the main square and souks. Reception was welcoming with friendly staff. The pool area was very nice with comfortable loungers. Bedroom was clean and reasonable size with fridge that was very welcome. We only ate in the buffet restaurant which was a bit too similar each time but nice food. Breakfast choice was limited but that seems to be normal in Morocco.

We have just returned from a week long stay at the Golden Tulip and have to say the hotel is very poor. There is a sign in reception saying "Hotel of the Year 2007" - What a difference 5 years makes!! Whilst it is almost friendly, the paint is peeling and the rooms need an update. Hardly any english is spoken which makes it more challenging. The food is less than average and extremely expensive if you do Bed and Breakfast. Drinks are also very expensive with a G&T at around £7:00 and a bottle of beer at £3.50. Whilst we were staying they were also creosoting the hallways - not a pleasant smell. It was almost impossible to book any excursions from the hotel. All in all we were very underwelmed and would recommend you chose another hotel if you plan on staying any longer than a couple of days.

Mararakech was a good destination and would we recommend the medina, souks and night market - although look out for the scooters which come from every angle and can go anywhere including the narrow souks.

Room Tip: rooms in another hotel are probably better :-)

The pool is great and only one day did we struggle to fe a lounger. The rooms are basic and tired - much like the staff and the food! Breakfast was ok but not very Brit friendly - boiled eggs and spam and lota of croissants but did the job !
Recommend if you want somewhere cheap and to lie by the pool and there is a nice Cafe down the road

I booked this hotel via internet and everything was fine.
I called them to anticipate the booking of one day, and I realize that the guy on the phone was able to say just few word in english and did not understand anything.
I was traveling by car and the problem was we din not know which exit take from the highway in order to arrive close to hotel and that's when the problem starts.
When I called them they were not able to understand what I was asking them and they keep to repeat the name of the district no matter what question I asked to them.
Anyway, we were finally able to reach the right district ( at 10 p.m.) and we stop near the Congress Palace, we try to find avenue to president kennedy but was very difficult, we ask them if they can sand somebody to picking us because is very close to the hotel but they refused to do it and so we change hotel. We went to Opera plaza in which everybody speak good english and the famous Moroccan hospitality is well demonstrated.

We stayed 5 nights in Hotel Golden Tulip Farah in Marakesh. We found most of the staff very friendly & helpful. However information for excursions etc were not available freely. When we asked for information they did give it to us.
The excusions booked did not have airconditioned busses, taking us.at 41C this wasa little difficult, as some of the windows could not be opened.check this before booking

Room Tip: ask for rooms where you can get AC that can be controlled

Probably a little cramped if staying for more than a few days. Despite this the atmosphere, location and food were very good and not excessively expensive considering its standard. Bedrooms are small, but comfortable, but be prepared to be awakened early with the call to prayer from the Mosque. A good place to stay and explore this wonderful city and all that it has to offer.

The hotel is good in location, the pool and the garden are both very relaxing. The rooms definitely need renovation but overall; when you are in Marrakech, a hotel room is not meant for spending time in, right?

- Try not to call a taxi at the hotel; they overcharge. Walk out, turn right and walk 100 meters, more taxies at regular rates. Always ask the taxi drivers in Morocco to put their meters on. Otherwise you pay a tourism penalty. : ))

- The hotel is not very far from the Marrakech train station; 15-20 minutes walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool and the garden.
