“An oasis of calm in the mayhem of Marrakech”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2011

A very warm welcome on arrival at the the Riad. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and traditional. There is a wonderful roof gaden which is perfect for relaxing at the end of a tiring day walking through the souk and the streets of Marrakech. There is a also a plunge pool which was too cold for use at this time of year but I am sure would be very welcome in the hotter months.
The staff are always to hand and Aziz is very helpful . Breakfast is provided and lunch and dinner are available. We were glad that we ordered dinner for our first evening.
The Riad is situated on the edge of the Souk about 10 minutes walk from the main square (if you dont get lost)!
I would definately recommend this riad.

Don't be put off by the approach along unmarked alleys. However, make sure you will recognise your way back before you leave on the first day!

The riad is beautifully clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The riad arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and we pre-booked food for the first night. We also had lunch at the riad on the day we left. Both meals were very good, as was breakfast each day. There was a very helpful folder of information in our room and we were also provided with a map and verbal advice.

The owners suggest leaving a generous tip when you leave. We felt the staff earned this but you should be aware of it if you are on a tight budget.

We spent 3 nights in the mistress room at the Riad Darhani. The Riad itself was beautiful and well kept. Terrace upstairs lovely. Our room was large and the bathroom was a good size too with plenty of hot water. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. I would advise to arrange for the pickup from the airport as the riad is a little difficult to find initially without a guide. Walking distance to some nice bars/restaurants and 10 minutes to the main square and souks. Overall an excellent stay!

Just returned from a trip with my friend. We had the twin room which was just perfect for us. Comfy beds, very clean, lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. Sleep interrupted by Muslim call to prayer which you would get anywhere in the city. My advice would be to take some ear plugs! We had dinner on our arrival and were welcomed by Abdul with mint tea and morrocan pastries. Great tagine and had a good bottle of white wine. Aziz looked after us during our stay too and gave us some good advice and offered to come and find us if we got lost. We managed to navigate our way round very well. Perfect location for souks and main square and safe area. We would recommend for a visit to get a good map and
make sure you can find your way round to avoid having to pay the locals who pester you
quite a bit of the time. Another tip would be to arrange for the riad to collect you from the airport since you would not be able to find the riad on your own . Bon voyage !

Stayed for 3 nights and could not fault a thing. Staff went out of heir way to be helpful and spoke good english. Stayed in Walnut room which although not large was perfect for a couple. Breakfast every day was different. It was like a little oasis in the middle of Marakech. Only down side and it is a tiny one, was a little noisy when other guests were coming and going but this is no fault of anything other than the style of the building.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Darhani Riad in Marrakech. Cannot fault Darhani at all, the staff were lovely and the on site manager (Aziz) extremely helpful giving lots of advice to me and my friend who had not visited Morrocco before. The Riad was beautiful and peaceful and only 10 minute walk from the main square. Slightly difficult to find on the first night so well worth arranging a taxi and chariot to meet you at the airport. The guide we booked through the Riad was very knowledgable and friendly and took us to sites which I'm sure we would have not found on our own

The food provided was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a great base to explore this fantastic city.

Thanks to everyone at Darhani for looking after 2 friends from Liverpool on a girly shopping break

We found the Darhani to be an oasis of peace and elegence. Our room was more than comfortable and the en suite facilities had a luxurious feel with the bathroom dressing gowns and soft thick towels. The management and staff bent over backwards to help us and they were a guiding hand in recommending the sites to see, things to be wary of and even accompanied us (at our request) to various shops which they knew were reputable to ensure we got the genuine article ie leather goods. It was like having trustworthy local friends.
The food and service were superb with a variety of dining areas and a kitchen which always looked clean and tidy. The Darhani is very well situated to the Souk markets and nearby Jemma al Fna
A real gem of a find!
