Our five nights at the Riad Aubrac could not have been better. The riad is fantastic, as is the whole city. The breakfast is rich, very varied and plentiful. All staff at the Riad were the greatest sympathy. Be sure to try a meal in Riyadh and ask at least once to have breakfast on the roof terrace. We can´t wait to come back. Paulo, Rosa, Maria.

I can highly recommend staying at Riad Aubrac. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent both for breakfast and the dinner we had on the roof terrace one evening. We loved our room which was beautiful and comfortable. We were near to the markets and main square and we wished we had booked our trip to the desert through them as our transfer to the airport was very comfortable with a friendly driver who spoke good English.

We loved watching the birds come to feed at breakfast time and enjoying the peace of eating beside the pool in the courtyard.

Altogether a wonderful place to feel well looked after and enjoy peace and quiet.

Thank you to the staff for giving us a great time in Marrakech.

Riad Aubrac felt like a home away from home during my short stay in Marrakech. Saeed and Kaoutar who were at the front desk during my stay, were the most wonderful hosts. They were friendly, flexible and always willing to help with everything from arranging airport transfers to booking the "taxis verts" that I used for sightseeing.

I cannot speak highly enough of Izza's wonderful cooking (the lamb tagine and kofta in particular were out of this world) and her willingness to accommodate my requests about the food I wanted to try out during my stay. Dinners are three courses and breakfasts consist of a croissant/danish, tea/coffee, msemen, bread, eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice.

The riad itself is beautiful, cool, quiet and comfortable and the friendly housekeeping staff ensure that it is immaculately clean. Robes, towels and basic toileteries are provided. Do go up to the roof garden for a meal or just to relax. As a bonus, I woke up to the sound of little birds chirping every morning, which was really lovely.

Getting around: I booked the airport transfer to Riad Aubrac (€15) and Saeed sent someone to guide me to the riad (a 7 to 10 minute walk from the drop-off point). Riad Aubrac is within walking distance of Jemaa el Fna, and having a wander around the streets in the area is enjoyable if you like that sort of thing.

Because I only had a day to sightsee, I found it more efficient to use a "taxi vert" that picked me up and dropped me off at Place Ben Salah (which is about two minutes' walk away from the riad). You can book taxis verts using telephone number 0524409494. They speak Arabic or French, so if you speak neither, ask whoever is at the front desk for help. The taxi will arrive within 10 or so minutes. You must pay 10MAD in addition to the meter fare if you are picked up. There is no fee if you just flag the taxi down. I agreed an hourly rate with the driver who waited for me at the various sites.

Riad aubrac was everything we expected and more. The staff were so helpful, from organising airport transfers to giving directions to local amenities. They were all very friendly and never failed to have a smile on their faces. Food in the riad was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. The room was kept spotless for us and inside the riad in general was lovely and clean. It was a lovely experience to come home to a calm cool room after the hustle and bustle of marrakech. The terrace was lovely to relax on inthe evenings and views of the city were lovely. Location of the riad was perfect, a short wa ok from the main square, but far enough that the noise of the square couldnot be heard. Would definitely recommend staying here if you go to marrakech. It was great value for money and just a perfect place.

Room Tip: We stayed in the margeurite suite and it was lovely. Noreal windows to the outside, however thisis c...

we enjoyed great hospitality and a very obliging staff, always helpful and trying to ensure you having a pleasant time. we like to emphasize, that this for both of us is the most important criteria, although we could mention, that this riad is very quite and in a good location. the rooms are clean and nicely furnished. please do not bother with details. as we all know, inconveniences can happen in all star hotels.

Fantastic location, fantastic decor and condition, amazing staff!

Once you find it, it's an easy walk to and from the souks and main square. Kaoutar and Said along with the housekeeping staff are wonderfully friendly, helpful and help host this oasis of calm, in this perfectly hectic city.

Only a 15 minute private taxi (that Aubrac will organise) from the airport.

They will also happily help organise excursions and advise on what to do...

Final note, make sure you eat at the Riad at least once in your stay, by far the best meal we had was the perfect tagine and couscous, sat in the roof terrace watching the sunset across the mountains and the city.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Margaurite Suite (family of 4) and it was perfect!

I can only reiterate what others have said about this property. Great place to stay, staff friendly and informative. Good sleeping facilities and clean. Difficult to find until you've got your bearings - but this would be applicable to all riad's in the medina. Just one word of warning (not applicable to the riad) - avoid the tanneries, and anyone who wants to guide you there, unless you are prepared to purchase something from there. We were 2 females and possibly seen as easy pickings - after a tour around the tanneries and a hard sell talk the guide and chap on the door became very threatening because we hadn't purchased anything, extracting money with menace's. Also watch your bags and pockets in the square after dark, whilst trying to view the attractions we were followed around by a group of young men who kept bumping into us,and trying to feel our back pockets. They wouldn't go away until we turned and faced them, letting them know we were aware of what they were up to. I am not novice traveler - having been to many country's and have visited Marrakech before, but, always with my husband.
Back to the Riad Aubrac - great place to stay.
