My wife and I stayed here with our 6 year old son for 4 nights in February. We had a wonderful time: not only is the Riad an oasis of calm and comfort with great Moroccan food, but the location is perfect for exploring the Souks and experiencing the atmosphere of the old city. The staff at the Riad were lovely, and my son was perfectly at home and would return tomorrow if he could! We will definitely return here another year.

Room Tip: The suite on the top floor is perfect for families.

This is the fourth visit to Marrakesh and by far the best. Rather than try one of the grander hotels outside of the city walls, my partner and I chose a central Riad and found the whole experience a complete revelation. This little gem is just 50 metres from the Jema and close to the heart of the Souks. The whole experience was delightfully enhanced by being able to explore from such a warm and welcoming base. The rooms are in a traditional style, with comfortable beds, walk in showers and all at five star finish. Each bedroom is set overlooking a court yard and for breakfast and dinner we sat on the upper terraces taking in the morning sun. But above all and despite proximity to the action, the Riad was a haven of peace and relaxation. No more hotels for us, we have fallen in love with this side of Marrakesh.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed well positioned.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this beautiful Riad. Perfectly positioned - a short stroll to the main square and souk and perfectly serene - although so close to the hubbub in the square, the atmosphere in the Riad, even when sitting on the roof top terrace, was quiet and calm. The hospitality too was excellent - tea (mint or English) available on request. We felt completely looked after all the time we were there. Perfect for anyone who wants a real Moroccan experience - a gem of a place to stay. Oh, and just to reassure, the plumbing was excellent too!

My sister and I stayed in Riad de l'Orientale for 3 nights in November 2013 and it was a perfect experience from beginning to end. The Riad is situated in a small street off the main square. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet, such that it is easy to forget that the busy souk is just a 5-10 minute walk away.
Our room was spacious and clean, and we were given a heater and blankets as it gets chilly in November. The bathroom was nice and clean, with a nice hot shower. The riad itself is decorated beautifully and tastefully, with many lounge areas on the ground floor as well as the terrace upstairs.
We were served yummy mint tea (the best I had in Morocco) and cakes on our arrival. Our luggage was brought to our room without any faff and the checkin process went smoothly. Breakfast at the riad was again delicious - fresh yoghurt, moroccan bread and crepes - the dream!
Rashid (the duty manager during our stay) is incredibly nice and soft-spoken. We had trouble finding our way back to the riad on our first night, and after a quick phone call, he generously offered to come pick us up in the main square and escort us back. He was incredibly attentive to our every need and was always happy to help.
Very good experience, would definitely stay there again if I go back to Marrakech.

This is a beautiful little riad with great views from the sun terrace. It is a great location, two minutes walk right into the main square or the souks. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The room was small (as expected in the city!) but very well decorated, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was quite spacious. We enjoyed our stay.

When going to visit Marrakesh you want to stay in the heart of it all to truly experience the vibe and the culture. Riad de l'Orientale is located just around the corner from Jemaa el-Fna, in the center of the Medina. The place is beautifully decorated, kept very clean and the staff are very helpful. There is nothing bad I can say about this Riad. I would recommend it to everyone and definitely will be coming back.

Room Tip: the suite has air con in both rooms; there are fans in other rooms; free wi-fi!

The place is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The riad's manager, Latifa, is very aproachable and gave us lots of great tips for our trips around Marrakech. Couldn't ask for more :)
