“When in Marrakech, go clocking..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

Recently opened but became my favorite destination. you can go many times during the week and never get bored of it because of the many activities going on everyday of the week. The staff are very funny and energetic; nothing is too much for them. The food is very tasty, well presented and served. Camel burger and couscous are my favorites, but the menu is rich and my vegetarian friend had no trouble choosing his meal.

I highly recommend Cafe Clock..

“Camel burger. ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

Reviews on TA claimed Cafe Clock a must visit and it did not disappoint. The interior is a cross cultural urban Moroccan mix. Think the Breakfast Club of London's Soho and Islington in the Medina, but whiter and cleaner.

Although new (opened 2 months ago), it felt comfortable and familiar from the onset. Graffiti art hung on the walls in frames and on canvas, leather cushioned seats with an eclectic mix of retro, industrial, and maroc tables and chairs. There is also a funky roof terrace with parasols and a private kitchen for culinary school.

The staff were the warmest and friendliest we had our whole trip. All spoke excellent English and the menu was also available in English.

He had the camel burger which comes with chips and salad. I had the chicken with couscous, caramelised onions, raisins, apricots and a light curried sauce. Both were very very tasty. To drink a homemade mint lemonade which was superbly refreshing.

We visited between lunch and dinner so the place was pretty empty yet still had loads of atmosphere. The service was quick and impeccable. Although a cafe the service rivalled any restaurant we ate at during our stay.

Located near Tombeaux Saadiens at the end of Rue de la Kasbah on Derb Chtouka. Keep walking! With the Kasbah behind you, you'll want to turn back as the shops disappear. When you get to the t-junction at the end of the road look out for orange parasols on the roof top and graffiti on the walls and you will find it. And find it you must!

“Camel Burger!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

If it were possible to give cafe clock 6 stars i would. It is the best cafe i've ever been. The atmosphere is just great! Lovely staff , friendly owner and amazing food. The cross cultural aspect of the cafe give it more value and invites you in throughout the week; talented story tellers, amazing music bands, jam sessions, Yoga and Tango Classes, graffiti... Simply the best! and a great asset to Marrakech.

I highly recommend Cafe Clock.

“My favourite place in Marrakech”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

I have actually tried everything on the menu and I LOVE it. But more than just the menu, the owner and staff are fabulous and the storytelling evenings on Thursday and Gnaoua concerts on Sundays are FABULOUS! A must visit.

“A gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

This place was at the end of our street, found thanks to other Tripadvisor reviews and I was so glad. We ate there twice during our brief stay. The food was great, well priced and a good mix of European and Moroccan dishes; I highly recommend the mixed salad plate; it was delicious.

Food aside, we went back because they had a storytelling evening in both Arabic and English, which was a big hit with my travelling companions (two teens). They were very disappointed we would have to miss the live music at the weekend.

I meant to take a photo of the sacks of something (sand?) piled up in the doorway, which will help to locate the entrance but I forgot! So, assuming they will still be there, if you spot an artistically arranged pile of sacks, go through the arch, look left and you'll see it.

They also had an interesting looking cooking school which includes a trip to the market to buy the food for preparation. Will be trying that next time.

Dear MsLauraW,

Thank you for your review and your visits to Cafe Clock. We enjoyed meeting you and your companions. We were glad to have you for the storytelling.

Concerning the sacks of sand, our neighborhood authority (the mqtem) has promised that they will soon be removed and then we will be able to paint a sign in their place, which will make Cafe Clock a little bit easier to locate!

Thanks for your review. We do hope you'll join us for a cooking school on your next visit to Marrakech.

Best,
Melissa
