Overall good value. For the equivalent of 100€, I booked a 45-min scrubdown, a 60-min massage, and... read more
You book via their website www.lesbainsdemarrakech.com, and then communicate via email with them. They are fairly prompt with email responses after the initial one, but took 5 days to respond to the initial internet booking (as you will see other comments mention). They request bookings to be secured via paypal deposit (in our case, 650 MD half of our total).
It's in Bab Agnaou, south of Jemaa El Fna square, near the Kasbah Mosque. We ended up paying a kid to take us there, as google maps [BEWARE] has the location incorrect, and we spent a good hour looking 20 minutes walk north of it!!!
No photography is allowed inside, which is a shame, but understandable. The place is very plush, with relaxation areas by the pool in outdoor courtyards, or inside where they spray fragrant water mist.
To explain (as I didn't know how it worked, and they don't really explain), you go into separate male/female changing rooms, which have lockers for your personal items, changing into bathrobes provided. You need to wear either swimwear or underwear (and bring a change of underwear, dark coloured as they will get dirty with mud/oils).
Some staff speak english, but likely the ones who treat you only speak french/morroccan. If you so wish, keep some money on you in your bath robes to tip the staff, as you won't find them again later. I had a duo hammam + massage the traditional one at 550 MD, whereas my wife had a facial and massage at 800 MD. We asked to have our massages together at the same time, but they were unable to accomodate. You will need to arrange this in advance as they don't think about these types of details.
I had a burly woman who was very efficient and professional. My hammam was a sauna / scrub with loofah mitt / light body mask. I was scrubbed to within an inch of my life, and had layers of my skin lying on the bench when she was finshed. She wasn't shy to pull open the front and back of my boxers to pour water in to rinse me. My massage was amongst the best I've had worldwide, I like relaxing massages, and felt that I had a full hour rather than the usual rushed one.
My wife said that hers tried to take her swimming bra top off, but didn't press when she refused. You are served tea after each treatment, and it's very relaxing. There are cheaper places for this kind of thing in Marrakech, but to be honest, it was fantastic and well worth it (especially when compared to UK prices).

my husband and i booked a relaxation duo hamman and massage.I did this by e-mail from their website. The reply was very quick within 24 hours, so I can only presume they have got their communication issues sorted out. The 2 hour experience was wonderful. A steamy, salt rub massage ending with a rose mud body mask. We did get the giggles when we first saw what each other looked like! The hour long full body massage that followed was delightful-the best massage I have ever had. There was plenty of time to relax in addition, on couches sipping tea.The environment was lovely, relaxing and calm just as a spa should be. I shall definately be going back-in fact it could be one of the main reasons for going back to Marrakech.
note:one thing that did take a bit of getting used to was that I was naked and my husband kept his trunks on. However once I relaxed this did not matter.I would have this treatment again. my skin felt fabulous afterwards.

My boyfriend and I did a day spa at Les Bains and I can honestly say it was one of the best spa experiences ever. We had a couples spa so had all of our treatments together which was romantic and also funny at the same time. It's a place of luxury and we were so chilled out and tired by the end of the day as it was super relaxing. The green tea and sweets added to the total enjoyment of this experience. A traditional spa experience well worth the visit

I booked this after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and they were absolutely spot on. The booking process wasn't too bad and paying by Paypal very straightforward. I went with 5 girlfriends and we've all been to various spas but this was something special. We started the day relaxing by the small pool and then went for our hammam body scrub which includes getting sloshed with warm water! After some mint tea we had our massages which were just heavenly and then some more mint tea and biscuits - we were there about 3 hrs and floated out afterwards. Just a couple of things to be aware of, as previous reviewers have said, be prepared to strip off (they are very professional about it) and also get good directions or a guide to get you there, its not the easiest to find.

Four of us (2 couples) went here on 31st May 2010 for a relax day spa package. Yes, the booking process was a bit hit and miss, but after e-mailing a few times after my initial on-line booking (4 weeks before) I finally got a confirmation. You can pay via PayPal which is useful.
I took my mother for a birthday surprise and it was heavenly. We had all treatments together in couples which was really nice. First an hour of hammam and scrubbing (I've never been so smooth!), then an hour floating in a bath of rose petals and orange oil, then an hour full body massage (even your ears and hair get massaged!). Every treatment was followed by a relax in a lovely chill out area with mint tea and biscuits for the last one. We were able to use the outdoor pool for 30 mins after too which topped it all off nicely.
The staff were very professional. A well run establishement. Yes - be aware ladies that you will be asked to remove your top for the whole duration (you wear a robe in between treatments). My mother was asked to remove everything but didn't seem to mind!- maybe because her bikini bottoms were shorts, who knows! They are not shy about scrubbing you everywhere and rinsing you off in the shower afterwards!
We all left there feeling wonderful and the boys also thoroughly enjoyed themselves, having never been to a spa before (and probably thinking it was a bit of a girly thing to do!). Book well in advance and enjoy! Our day spa cost 80 Euro each, which is what you would pay for a massage alone in the UK.

We were lucky because our Riad got us a last minute appointment at Les Bains. The whole experience took about 2 hours and it was pure luxury. My husband and I did the bath and massage. It started out with a wonderful exfoliation and mud wrap for about an hour and an hour massage. This is not a muscle or sports massage, it just pure relaxation. The exfoliation and mud, made your body feel clean and soft. It really was worth the time and the money and I would highly recommend it. PS. Both need to remember to bring bikini bottoms to wear in the baths!
