“Heavenly Riad”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2008

We arrived at the airport in Marrakech, 1 hour late due to a late departure from Gatwick. The Riad had arranged a driver to meet us, so we were a little worried that he may have left! We needn't have worried as our driver had waited all that time for us, so it was wonderful just to climb into his cab and feel relaxed and safe.

On arrival at the Riad, Robert and his staff made us feel immediately relaxed and welcome and showed us to our room and then gave a tour around the Riad.

Riad el Mansour has six bedrooms, each individual in style, the larger rooms are totally oppulant and gorgeous! The courtyard is adorned with beautful original floor tiles and delicately carved wood cornicing and is fully open from ground floor to the sky! The roof terrace is a real haven for sunbathing, relaxing, breakfast or candlelit evening meal and can be covered should it rain during your stay.

It was really impossible to imagine that we were staying in the heart of the medina, with all the hustle and bustle of the traders and traffic once you walked into the Riad and were transported to a tranquil oasis!

Robert and his staff helped us organise special trips during our stay with or without guide and we had the feeling that nothing was too much trouble, infact they really pulled out all the stops to make us happy.

We would definately return and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Our first visit to Marrakech was made especially wonderful by our stay at the Riad El Mansour. My husband and I have traveled the world, but seldom have experienced the hospitality offered by the staff at this enchanting riad. The riad was truly a hidden gem, a short walking distance from the city center's hustle and bustle. Our stay was enhanced by the brief orientation by the manager, followed by a wonderful authentic Morrocan dinner that night. We spent four nights in total - with one day in the Atlas mountains (a tour arranged by the hotel staff). Thank you for a memorable time!

We have recently returmed from a short break in Marrakech and can only echo the opinions of other travellers who have stayed at the charming Riad El Mansour.
The riad itself really is a haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the streets and Medina. Lovely breakfasts on the sun terrace, great traditional Moroccan meals in the evenings, incredibly hospitable and friendly staff and comfortable, well decorated rooms with thoughtful touches, such as fresh roses each day and bottled water.
My husband booked a massage at the Riad (which he found very relaxing) and I can thoroughly recommend the Hammam!

This Riad lived up to all the recommendations and reviews by other travellers. The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms and whole riad were spotless. The food plentiful, tasty and freshly prepared each day. Lovely little touches - fresh flowers, bottled water, nuts and fruit in the room every day. All the staff from the owner and managers down to the cleaners and cooks were genuinely friendly and interested.

If you are planning to stay in Marrakech and want to experience the excitment of real life in the Medina and the calm of this fantastic riad, then this is definitely the place for you!!

My husband and I were looking for a charming place to stay as we celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Morocco. Riad El mansour was absolutely the place for us. The staff is AMAZING!!! Stephen and Robert were great. They should teach owners of other establishments what "customer service" truly means. These gentlemen have created an atmosphere of tranquility, warmth and charm; not to mention an amazing eye for detail. They truly made our trip to Marrakech one of the best we've ever experienced!!

If you are looking for a large establishment with commercial attractions, Riad El Mansour is not for you. However, if you are looking for a quaint, elegant, authentic place that succeeds in making you feel like it's your home away from home, Riad El Mansour is the only place to be.

A little peace of heaven in a vibrant and busy town. Once the door to the Riad opens, you leave behind the maze of little alleys and enter clam and serenity.
There are little touches of detail scattered around the property, waiting to be discovered. Whether the pieces of art you would not necessarily expect to see in a Riad, down to the rose petals scattered by your sink, down to the mixed dry fruits with nuts to the fresh fruit and wonderful long stemmed roses.
The staff while never in any way or shape introsive were always there to assist or just chat. Taxi driver appeared on time to whisk you off to your chosen restaurant that was booked for you as well as ensuring your speedy return back.
The Hamman in the Riad was an experience I am please to have made. The meal that was speedily prepared for us fresh after a late arrival was yummy, so I wish we had had the time to taste the complete works.
If anyone would like to explore Marrakesh, as well as a enjoy a little piece of heaven, I can only highly recommend this Riad.
I wish both Robert and Steven all the very very best in the future and think they have created a wonderful Riad. Also a big thank you to al those people who somehow knew just when to turn the bed down, make us a fresh orange juice or just appear to have a little chat. My thanks to them all.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2007 and cannot rate it highly enough. Beautiful riad and Mo, the owner, was the perfect host, organising everything we needed. Definitely recommend the hammam at the riad - a great experience. Only let down (as others have said) was the tour guide used by this hotel who was very nice but more interested in taking us to carpet/ furniture sellers than what we wanted to see. This was a very minor complaint as all in all this is somewhere we would urge people to try.
