We stayed their with our 2 year old and we were well looked after by the staff.
they went out of their way to make life easy for us and with a 2 year old in tow people should know that this can be a challenge.
Yes the excursions were a bit over priced and our guide was a pain but hey its probably not the hotels fault as any registered guide would cost money.
My advice would be to stay away from this and look to tour the city yourself.
Its not that hard!!
The breakfast was fine and maybe it was us but we got a great variety of things to eat everyday which we relished as otherwise the food is not to everyone palette in marrakech.
The hamam experience was great fun , i only wished we hadnt left it till the last date.

The hours we spent at the jama al fanaa drinking mint tea were well worth if you can find a good enough spot.

Overall i was dreading the trip with my 2 year old but was pleasantly surprised by all the fuss they made of him and he even got cuddled by the belly dancer the hotel had got for one nights entertainment.

We will definitely go again.

Birdsong and evocative music echo around this relaxing hotel. The staff eager and
helpful; the food and wine generous; a spa visit essential.
Mohammed arranged everything from a cookery course to an excellent guide.
Walk 15 minutes to Big Square and souks or 5 minutes to Ets. Bouchaib for
shopping without bartering.
Ideal 4 day break for us, two girlfriends needing peace, quiet, good red wine and
lots of shopping therapy.

Marrakech now has a new town with all the world famous retailers and top hotels. But if you want a 5* small hotel with alot of character, within walking distance of the main square in the Medina, and yet quiet and relaxed, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is perfect. They pick you up at the airport which immediately takes the strain away, and then after some refreshing mint tea on arrival in their courtyard, you find some fruit and gorgeous little cakes in your room along with rose petals on the bed. What a start !!
Also noticed that when you stay in many so-called top hotels, the towels are not always large and soft. These were, and it was just one of many small details that makes this Hotel rather special.
Day trips to the Atlas Mountains and Essaouira, guided tour around Marrakech were all arrangd through the Hotel and excellent. The swimming pool had loungers and large shades for everybody and the spa was well worth the several visits for a massage.
The buffet breakfasts were very good, and there was a good deal on the evening meals. We stayed seven nights, and three of these meals were outstanding, two were good and two were just O.K. We were told they would make sure that all the meals were up to their normal high standard. Their wines were very good and reasonably priced.
We had a wonderful stay at Les Borjs where all the staff were friendly, attentive and smiling, and have already recommended this Hotel to our friends..

We have just returned from our honeymoon at this riad-hotel. We honestly could not fault it - the staff were so lovely and attentive that we were sad to leave. The whole place is so aesthetically pleasing that I struggled to read my book for gazing at its beauty. We really enjoyed tha Hammam and we both had a wonderful massage. Also, we loved the Soiree Marrocain that they hosted one night in the restaurant. Out of interest, on our last day we went to La Mamounia to see what it was like, but despite its grandeur, we would still rather stay here. A perfect oasis of calm and beauty. Thank you so much Monsieur Tom, Mohammed, Abdulatiff, Youssef, Nawal, Hachid and all the other wonderful staff who looked after us and made our honeymoon so special. We hope so much to return. Do not get me wrong this is not a bad boutique hotel but it does not live up to the claims on the website or some of the other reviews on here.

The main problem was lack of consistency and small details which you expect when paying this sort of money in a place such as Marrakech.

We stayed for a week in a deluxe room and the main part of the room was nice enough with a good sized bed and plenty of wardrobe space.
However the en-suite was a little shabby and the shower was no use for anyone over 5 foot tall, In addition there was little hot water to be had (Only had a proper hot shower on two days out of the week).

Service on the first few days was very patchy but did pick up when more guests arrived. Standards of service should be just as good whether there is one guest or 30.
Excursions
The hotel charges a large premium for excursions booked thru them and for this I expected a much better service (and some protection). Most of the excursions seem to be based around getting as much money out of the guests as possible and there were a number of occasions when we felt rather uncomfortable with the hard sell tactics that were deployed on every single excursion we undertook.
SPA
Use of the SPA and Sauna are at addition charge (Should you really charge for use of the sauna?)My wife and I both had the Hammam and Gommage unfortunately the Hammam ran out of Steam and we were left sitting in a old room for 10 minutes until they fixed it.
My wife also had a couple of massages and she was happy with those
Restaurant
The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. When you consider they charge near enough western charges the standard and service were nothing like those of similar hotels in France.
If you arrived at Breakfast after 8:30 there was not a great deal of choice left (we only managed to get croissants on one day) and on a number of occasions I had to ask the staff to top up the coffee or orange juice) and generally service was not good.
We had evening meals in the restaurant on 3 occasions the first was actually reasonable (though still over priced compared to similar local restaurants) on the second occasion service was reasonable but the food was disappointing (very overcooked which is OK if you order a Taging but not for sliced beef). However on the third occasion my wife and I both had very upset stomachs so suffice to say we did not eat there again.

Overall if Les Borjs wants to appeal to the sort of clients who like true 4 star service it needs to improve both its standards and its consistancy

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 4 days in Marrakech and were fortunate enough to have stayed at the stunning boutique hotel Les Borjs de la Kasbah. From the moment we were collected by the friendly driver (transfers are free if you book directly via the website) and arrived at the hotel we knew we had made the right choice. The owners of the hotel have managed to create an incredibly tranquil ambience, something impossible to believe achievable given that one of Africa’s busiest squares, Jemaa el Fna, is just a 10-15 minute walk away.

Our room, a premium Double overlooking the courtyard area, was very spacious and well equipped with everything you could need for a short stay. The bathroom was a particularly generous size and had the benefit of a separate shower and bath. As with all of the facilities the room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The pool area provided a welcomed break from the scorching midday temperatures, as were the comfortable seating areas located in the shade around the main courtyard.

If you are planning a stay at Les Borjs de la Kasbah I thoroughly recommend that you eat at the hotels ‘Le Jasmin’ restaurant. It was by far the best food that we ate during our stay in Marrakech and the French & Moroccan menu was complimented by an impressive wine selection, something that we found difficult to find in the other restaurants we tried in the area. The snack menu offered by the poolside at lunch times was also very good value.

The staff at the hotel were all absolutely fantastic, we simply could not fault the service we received during our stay and we were very sad to leave. We are already planning a return visit to Marrakech and will certainly be booking this hotel again.

TIP - Make sure you book directly via the hotel website to get the best deal and free transfers.
