My friend and I stayed here in Dec 2006 after unsuccessfully trying to book Hotel Ali. The folks at Hotel Ali recommened Riad Rahba. Generally, the Riad was clean and staff was helpful. Location is very close to the main square and souks but difficult to find the first time around. There are two options here, dorm style accommodation or private rooms.
My friend and I stayed in the dorm (which doubled as the Salon de The and Breakfast Room during the day). There aren't any actually beds, instead you sleep on couches (which were suprisingly comfortable). It was freezing at night and we needed at least 3 blankets to sleep comfortably. Being that the dorm is also the salon de the it can get very noisy, especially in the early morning hours when other guests decide to have their breakfast.
There is no shower for the dorms. If you want to take a shower you have to go into on of the private rooms. Hot water is intermittent.
Breakfast is simple but adequate. It consisted of fresh bread, butter, apricot preserve, orange juice, and mint tea.
This place is not the lap of luxury but is adequate, comfortable, and good value for money. We stayed 3 nights and paid 300dh each. I would probably stay there again.
