We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Marrakesh where we stayed at the fabulous Riad Dar One. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful- they were more than happy to help give us that much needed local knowledge. The Riad is beautiful.

Riad Dar one was exactly as the photographs suggest. Jean the owner/host was very friendly and informative, in fact all the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this stylish, accessible and affordable Riad. Juia and Judith

What a great weekend! The Riad was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. Breakfasts on the roof top terrace are a real treat. Jean (the owner) is brilliant, and was a fountain of knowledge for restaurants and sightseeing tips. He also organised all our hotel/airport transfers, which makes life so much easier. Location, 10 mins walk to main souk. Would recommend the Riad to anybody.

Riad Dar One was a complete haven from the City outside. The owner was really welcoming and really helpful with hints and tips on where to go and what to see. The staff were very friendly and always on hand for anything you require. The riad itself was stylish, clean and well equiped, I would reccomend it to anyone wishing to visit Marrakech.

this was our fifth trip to Marrakech and Dar One was fabulous. We made our way down a very hot and dusty street by the Le Palais Bahia, through a little covered archway and round to the right and there it was....we were greeted at the big wooden door by Jean Perez and entered a haven of peace and tranquility. There are not enough words to describe Dar One when you enter, trickling water from the plunge pool, a cool breeze in temperatures over 40 degrees, silent except for the birds flying overhead and Jean's classical music in the background...just heaven. We should know what to expect by now but we were wowed by the simple yet modern design and colours of the Riad, the atmosphere was one of relaxation and peace and we couldnt wait to have a wander round. On an evening the whole place was lit by candles which was very romatic.

We stayed in the Sirocco room which lead out onto the roof terrace, it had a winding staircase that lead out onto it's own terrace which was lovely but a bit hot to make use of in August.

Jean and the team were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, they made us feel like we were visting their home. Jean showed us a map of the medina and how to get into the centre which was really easy. There was also lots of business cards of great places to dine out or to have a drink nearby. Jean booked us a table at our favourite restaurant before we arrived.

Please please go and stay at Dar One is really is wonderfull!

Wonderful, well located riad. We slept in two different rooms during our stay. Both rooms where more than big enough and had a tasteful interior. Don't forget to treat yourself a delicious dinner on the rooftop terrace. Big respect for Jean Peres and his crew for making our stay so pleasant.

We stayed at Dar One for three nights in July during the middle of a heatwave. Travelling with a six month old and a two year old, we were very worried to hear that Marrakech temperatures would hit 50 degrees celcius while we were there. After thinking that the trip may be a big mistake, we arrived at Dar One and realised that this place is a little oasis. A beautiful traditional riad in the heart of the medina, we could not have been happier with our accomodation. Jean and his fabulous staff had set up our room with baby cots and cranked up the aircon. The staff were fantastic with our little girls and helped with any particular requests. Asima babysat for us so that we could get out to the square at nighttime.

Our trip to Marrakech was for five nights and we had arranged for three nights at Dar One and then two nights in the Palmiere area ( to experienece a little bit of luxury). As it turned out, I wished we had just stayed at Dar One for our whole stay, because although it is in the Medina, it was tucked away down some winding roads and it felt far away from the hustle and bustle and heat of the main square. Saying that, it was only 10 min walk to the square if we wanted to go shopping or go for a meal.

Although the weather was crazy, our stay was wonderful and I would recommend both Marrakech and Dar One to other travellers with small children.
