Derek & I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Dar Najat, what a fantastic weekend we have just had. Everyone was so helpful and friendly right from being picked up at the airport to our send off.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and received knowledgeable information about Marrakech and the surrounding area. No lenghty check in, just a simple form whilst we ate our midday breakfast.

The atmosphere is so warm and friendly, with all the staff interacting with the guests. Everyone speaks French and English very well which makes things so much easier. We were even given a mobile phone should we get lost in the medina and need collecting. As it happened we managed not to get lost as we were escorted to the main square by Oliver so as to get our bearings.

The food was great also and we loved our breakfasts, fresh orange or clementine juice every day!

I would highly reccomend this Riad, it was our first visit to Marrakech and because we stayed at Dar Najat it was a fantastic trip and we'll definitely be back.

Thanks again to everyone, Oliver, Gerry Lewis, Amin, Said, Abdo(and Brownie the dog!) you made our stay feel like a home from home!

My wife and I went for a long weekend in Marrakech last September. It was our first time in the city and we found this place on the internet. I can say that they deserve all the good ratings, this is a place we will be staying at again and highly recommend it. It is located in the old part of the city, just a short walk to the main square. The staff and owner went above and beyond in meeting our needs and requests, and always with a smile and good will. A few days we asked for a lunch on short notice, and they served us this wonderful meal on demand up on their gorgeous terrace. The cous cous was divine. The breakfast, which is included, was sensational. Let it be known that I am a chef and I was really impressed with the quaility of the food. Sweet green tea was always available, as well as the occasional cold beer.
We also wanted to take a day trip to the Atlas mountains, and they hooked it all up for a great price. The man took us there in a van, we stopped and bought a great carpet on the way, had a berber tagine in the mountains and back in the same day. The man was so nice, what good hearted people.
When you stay at the Dar Najat, you are made to feel at home and welcome....I wish I could find this type of place all over the world, but its just so hard to come by. On the day of our departure, the owner and staff all carried our luggage to the transfer and gave us heartfelt goodbyes.

It's a fabulous place to stay. I knew we were on to a winner from the very start as Oliver sent me helpful e-mails throughout the booking process, and then also arranged special treats for our friends 50th birthday. I would definitely recommend the airport transfers, as you arrive relaxed and direct to the Riad - there was an amazingly thoughtful start to our trip as Oliver arranged flowers at the airport for my friends birthday - at no extra charge - she was thrilled!

From the moment we got there we were treated amazingly and made to feel really welcome. The staff were a delight - nothing too much trouble - dinner on our arrival, breakfast next morning all delicious and served by charming, helpful staff always with a smile. We were also personally shown the route to the market square and souks.

The riad has a very relaxed atmosphere and is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style - there always seems to be nice music wafting over the terrace too.

Oliver provided excellent information regarding trips and excursions, he has his own driver who showed us the best sights in the mountains on our last day to finish off the trip beautifully.

Relaxing on the lovely roof terrace during the day and in the evening is very pleasant, and Oliver has now added a new raised terrace which gives views over the city.

The rooms we stayed in were nicely decorated and comfortable, with heating/air - con as required.

All in all, a great place to spend a few days - thank you Oliver!

my girlfriend and i travelled to Marrakech before Christmas. We stayed at Dar Najat and really had a great time. The service and kindness from Olivier and his staff was wonderful. I had been to Marrakech 20 years earlier and was a bit apprehensive about what it would be like for vacation. Last time was a bit stressful at times, but fun. When we arrived, we were immediately made to feel very comfortable. The people at dar najat really helped us explore the city. We stayed for three days and on the third day i had no reservation and Olivier let us stay in the nicest room for the same price as our small room. Very nice! The riad is filled with art works by the famous, local artist Black Zitoun. We had fantastic breakfasts in the sun up on the terrace every morning. Nice pancakes in butter and honey, hot coffee with warm milk, fresh juice. Very enjoyable. You may have to share space with Brownie - the real boss of dar najat. It is also very central and easy to walk to the market and other parts of city. When we took a trip to Essouirra, Olivier recommended a room in a hotel he knew- wow was he right. an unbelievable panorama over the ocean. Before we left i asked Olivier where i could buy some CDs from local musicians - he came back with a stack of cds and gave me a handful. when was the last time that 's happened in a hotel! We really enjoyed staying at Dar Najat and look forward to a return visit. It's true - Dar Najat is the coolest riad in marrakech!

I stayed at this hotel for a short trip to Marrakech with my husband so I wanted somewhere highly recommended and I was not disappointed. We were picked up from the airport as promised even though our plane was late. We had arranged a meal on arrival which was delicious, we received a very warm welcome. We found the hotel to be stunning and authentic just like the pictures and our room was clean and cosy. The staff are all friendly and helpful and we appreciated being shown the way to the medina for the 1st time. The breakfast is lovely...great coffee and pancakes and the terrace and chill out music is very relaxing. You can certainly take the owner Oliver's advice about hammans and resturants in the city. We had a wonderfull time and can highly recommend the hotel.

From the moment you step in the door, till the moment you leave you are in heaven. The decor is rich and sexy. the staff impeccable and the breakfast is faultless. I loved it, ive stayed a couple of times and will continue to go back. A calm in the chaos. cant knock it.

Having stayed at a number of different Riads in Marrakech and in Essaouira I can vouch for every single positive review you see here. This place stands out from all the rest by miles!

The staff and owners is the reason for this. They actually care about their clients. From you arrive until you leave you will be the centre of attention, treated with politeness and professionalism as well as friendliness and care. Should you prefer solitude it will happen as well.

An example worth mentioning:

Of the 6 Riads i have stayed in, only Dar Najat had the courtesy of physically guiding me to Djemaa el Fna. In the otjher five Riads we were treated to an X marks the spot on a map or even a homemade map of twists and turns. This sort of service sum up Dar Najat in a nutshell!

I work for one of Europes largest travel agencies on a management level in an international sales and customer care role. None of the other riads i have personally experienced comes even close to Dar najat.

One very important thing to mention here is that all staff and the owners can communicate in English. This may seem trivial but believe me you will have a hard time finding other riads of this sort of standard were you will be able to communicate in any other languages than Moroccan Arabic or French.

My wife and I will surely return to Marrakech and Dar Najat will be our choice of accomodation.

Best wishes to all the staff at Dar Najat and hope to see you soon again
