We discovered Riad Hayati three years ago when it first opened. We've since been back four times. It has become our home in Marrakech.

This time we invited several of our friends to spend the week with us. We rented the whole riad and I'm so happy we did. Hayati is the sort of place where you can wander around and find something new in every corner. Some of the salons and alcoves are cozy, one is so large we were able to have an evening of dancing in it. All to ourselves!

Abdel and Mina seem to remember everything about their guests. Favorite dishes appear. Even the masses of roses in our room were my favorite pink (Marrakech roses actually smell like roses!). Ron is very selective about the city's restaurants. His suggestions are accurate and reliable and always fun.

Ron took us to the Mamounia Auction where we all acquired a bit of that grand hotel's history. He is a serious collector and Hayati is filled with treasures from his travels around the Middle East. He called the riad Hayati because it means "my life" in Arabic.

Our friends were delighted, We were once again delighted to be in our home away from home and we are looking forward to our next stay this Autumn.

From the moment we arrived at the airport and were greeted with Abdel's smiling "Welcome to Marrakech" we knew we were going to be happy.
And we were, totally.

Riad Hayati is simply devine. Stylish in an understated manner with superbly comfortable bedrooms and personal service that we won't soon forget.

Breakfast on the terrace is an absolute dream. You find yourself in a quiet rooftop garden with birds singing and even the occasional stork perched on the TV antennae. And, we now know why Mina's cooking gets such raves. She wafts quietly around her domain and delights in presenting one of her surprises. Try the "poulet aux olives" and "death by choclate" fudge cake. Fabulous.

The place is a real find. Very special indeed!

Walking into the Riad Hayati is like entering the pages of a luxury feature of Traveller or Elle Deco magazine- the epitome of style and elegance.
After the madness of the medina, gentle and ultra-polite Abdel opens the unassuming ‘secret’ door of the Riad and you enter the central courtyard into an oasis of calmness and serenity of cool white marble, fountains with scattered rose petals, and a huge banana tree adding an exotic splash of colour.
Every turn takes you to a new little alcove or salon, all decorated with exquisite works of art – from Ottoman tapestries to Berber chests, and a recently acquired antique wooden carved horse - collected by the worldly, sophisticated and generous host, Ron Ciccone. The powerfully sensual experience is complemented by soft music and scented candles.
There are four main guest rooms, all with exotic tadlakt bathrooms with plunge pool–size tubs, and two have fireplaces. The Palm Suite annex is a mini-palazzo carved out of two adjacent houses, with a private courtyard and a roof terrace which houses an ‘open air’ four poster bed for romantics and star gazers.
The service is faultless and the meals delectable. A must-stay for anyone visiting Marrakech.

We very much appreciated the personalized pick up at the airport. I must admit that the first time we walked down the quiet but dusty derb to the simple front door of the Riad Hayati, I was wondering if we had made the right choice. Once we entered the courtyard, all doubts evaporated. The understated elegance of the decor and the comfortable feel of the Riad were absolutedly perfect. Our suite was perfect in every way. We felt at home. The location was excellent, close to any number of excellent restaurants and quite a few of the major cultural attractions. Abdel and Mina, the brother and sister that manage the Riad could not have been more helpful or friendly. Abdel made two trips to the train station (on the other side of city) just to make sure our tickets were in order and then insisted on coming to the station with us, despite the fact he was leaving himself for a visit to his family. Every meal we had at the Riad was excellent; the one dinner we had was my personal favorite from our time in Marrakech. Ron, the owner, made any number of uselful and helpful suggestions. Abdel made an excellent recommendation for a carpet dealer as well as one for a nearby traditional Moroccan restaurant. We could not rate the Riad Hayati more highly.

The best advertisement for Marrakech has got to be Riad Hayati. Ron, the owner, has created a dream home in the midst of the ancient medina.

This bustling city assaults your senses day and night. It's all here. The mayhem of the souks, the chic clubs and restaurants.

But Hayati calms and restores you with its tranquility and charm and stunning decor. It is run with super efficiency with a warm, personal touch that one encounters rarely anymore.

We loved it and reccomend it very highly.

This is an incredible Riad. It is so quiet and intimate it's like it is your own home. There are a brother and sister who help run and take care of the place. Some of the best meals we had in Marrakech were made for us in the Riad. We had such wonderful, friendly service it was truly like staying at the home of a kind, stylish friend. Our room had an actual word burning fire place - perfect for those Moroccan evenings.

Honestly, if you are planning a place to Marrakech this is quite frankly the only place to stay. I cannot recommend Riad Hayati highly enough. It's comfortable, inviting yet it is located moments away from all the action. A wonderful travel experience indeed.

We stayed here with four friends during the May bank holiday. What a wonderful surprise. Riad Hayati really sneaks up on you in its lovliness.

We took that early flight from Gatwick and arrived in Marrakech quite tired. We needn't have worried. There was Abdel and the driver waiting to meet us and we were wisked off to the ancient medina. We walked through the narrow streets to a quiet cul de sac and slipped though a simple door into a slice of paradise.

The house is stunning , absolutely overflowing with lush bourgainvillea, citrus and palm trees. Soft music. Exotic incense. It's like a sensuel dream. The rooms are elegant in their simplicity and extremely comfotable. Great attention to detail.

The staff could not do enough to please and Ron's suggestions for restaurants and sights were spot on.

We had the best of both worlds: The cultural exotica of ancient Morocco combined with the new French chic.

We are so happy to have found Riad Hayati.
