Have just returned after a weeks stay in the fantastic Le Riad Monceau. The staff, rooms, food and its location make it the place to stay. If you want to stay in a concrete box, go to one of the many universal modern hotels on the outskirts. If on the other hand, you want to be made to feel at home in an exotic location, then the Riad Monceau and it's staff make it so. We used their guides and drivers on a number of occasions and were excellent.
The call to prayer can sound very loud at about 5.00am, you may not notice it. One of our group did.

We stayed at the Riad Monceau for a couple of nights in ocotober. The place is right in the middle of the Medina, just steps away from the central market. The service was great, the food amaizing and the rooms are tastefully decorated. we even got a free upgrade. This is the place to stay if you are thinking of staying in the Medina

My Wife and I went to Riad Monceau for our wedding anniversary in June for three days and found it to be evething we expected and more. I took up the option of the horse drawn carriage from the airport which is very romantic and went down very well with my wife! The location is excellent for access to the square with its bustle and the shops in the souk. Inside is a haven of tranquility in a beatifully restored Riad. We stayed in the Calife room on the first floor, I would concur with other reviewers that the two rooms on the ground floor next to the restaurant could have been noisy. The staff were a delight and went out of their way to be helpful. Food was excellent but I did struggle eating five courses very night! We tried the Hammam with both of us having a massage which again was excellent. Overall this is one of the best places I have ever stayed and I would unquestionably recommend it.
Tips: Money- I changed money at the airport and there is also a cambio near the Riad (turn left at the top of the alley, c600yrds along on the right).
Trips- all booked inthe UK. The Souks and Medina trip was very good and the Berber trip to the mountains was good but a lot of driving and several people didn't like the hair pin bends and steep drops! Beware the tourist stops at overpriced shops- you can buy anything you are shown much cheaper inthe souks.Holiday Services the firm organising the trips is only 10 mins away in the taxi.
Beware the call the prayer at 5am which is extemely loud even if you close the windows- I would strongly suggest ear plugs.
Overall the trip was a great experience and I would recommend both Marrakech and the Riad Monceau for the perfect stay.

Our booking was made well in advance and when we heard of the terrible news about the bombing they had in Marrakesh we spent a couple of days wondering whether we should go or not. I am so glad we finally decided to go l !
Everything was fine in Marrakesh and our stay was just fantastic.

Riad Monceau was as beautiful and welcoming as expected and our room (Marjane) was a really nice one ; spacious, comfortable with beautiful furnishing. And it has a gorgeous en-suite bathroom, quite as big as a London 1-bedroom flat!!

As put by a previous reviewer this riad is the perfect place to escape from the world! That’s what we were hoping for and we really loved our stay

This chic and friendly boutique is set in Marrakech’s ancient medina which is by far the most interesting and enjoyable part of this amazing city. The historical district is an absolute chaos (!) but once you step inside the hotel you just enter another world made of quietness, stylishness and gentleness. A world that just strikes a perfect balance between traditional Moroccan feel and contemporary comfort, boutique refinement and homelike feel.

Isabelle and her staff were the perfect hosts and we would very much thank them all for such a beautiful stay. And as we heard the terrible news about the explosion on the square (we were already back home) we would like to send our best wishes to all the marvelous people we met at the hotel. They are in our hearts and, for sure, WE WILL BE BACK SOON.

M. and P. / Stamford (CT).

This really is the perfect Marrakech Riad - quiet and romantic, with beautiful Moroccan architecture - and just 100 steps from the main square which makes each and every visit safe and easy. Most places of interest are of easy reach within short walking distance.

Rooms were spacious, very clean and well looked after. The breakfasts were excellent and freshly prepared each morning. Riad Monceau has also a great restaurant where we enjoyed a very nice and romantic meal; Most of all, from arriving through to departure all staff were fantastic. Very attentive without smothering and able to assist every time.

Certainly a place I would love to return to.
