Staff couldn't do enough for you! Drinks always topped up and a good selection if foods - different theme each night.

Really great location and very helpful rep, Ahmed - he made our stay very comfortable, making sure he'd do absolutely anything and everything he could to help.
Imad was also a great help and a credit to the team.

Excursions were very reasonable and thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you medina gardens, best two weeks ever!! Steph

We spent 11 nights at the Medina Gardens arriving at the end of July for our honeymoon. For the price it is an absolutely fabulous place to stay. We had a fantastic time. Most of the staff are extremely helpful, polite and friendly and really couldn't do enough for you. On arrival we were greeted by several members of staff offering cold flannels scented with rose oil, fruit cocktails and pastries. Our luggage was taken straight to our room, and we were checked in whilst sitting comfortably in the main reception. The restaurant was kept open for us ( we arrived around 11pm) and we enjoyed a cold buffet. The room was spacious and comfortable, air-conditioned, hair dryer, TV, fridge. The food and wine were great, gin and tonics very strong! It is very easy to gain a lot of weight as you can eat 3 courses breakfast, lunch and dinner and snack in between if you really feel the need! Sarah the Thompson entertainment lady is really lovely and lays on light entertainment - aquarobics, yoga in the pool but there is no pressure to join in. Other entertainment during the holiday - acrobats, traditional dancers, fire eater, belly dancers and last but not least the resident entertainers Buendia - Helen (singer) and Greg (guitarist) who were excellent and play most evenings and sometimes during the day, really lovely people. The grounds are lovely - beautiful gardens, pomegranate and citrus trees, tortoises wandering around (and a female cat and her two kittens who were well looked after). A quiet pool and the main pool. Special mention to all the lovely restaurant staff, especially Layla and Hassan. When staff found out we were on honeymoon we came back to the room to find flowers on the bed spelling out happy honeymoon, bubbly was delivered to our room and they made us a cake! So lovely! We would definitely go back and have indeed booked for Marrakech next summer but can't return to Medina Gardens as we will have our children with us. The first week there was no problem getting a couple of sun beds together around the pool whatever time you chose to get there, unfortunately into the second week with new arrivals this became a little more difficult. Some were even putting their towels on them the night before! Not the fault of hotel staff obviously but a little annoying. I even witnessed a heated exchange, on our last day, with regard to this. Having said that, if you were happy to be away from the main pool there were plenty of loungers in the lovely gardens which was far more peaceful. We also would recommend the Atlas mountain trip, excellent. A truly wonderful holiday/ honeymoon which we will never forget. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We were in room 7 and was very nice, just off the main reception area and no immediate neighbours.

Had a short stay here in June could not fault it, fab staff and really nice food, the Indian a la carte is to die for!! Lush gardens and nice pool area.

Rooms were really clean and spacious with a good choice of tv channels.

Very short walk to the square so this is perfect for exploring Marrakech.

Overall really enjoyed.

How anyone can find fault with this hotel is beyond me! Still, there really is no pleasing some.
Flight from Manchester was 3.5 hours - then it took 2 hours to clear passport control. However, once on the coach we were at the hotel within 15 minutes. Word of warning, keep hold of your cases until you hand them to the coach driver, even if someone says 'Thomson' or 'Medina Gardens'. They are looking for a tip. Check in at the hotel was quick and they had kept the restaurant open for us.
I have read a fair few reviews commenting on the food. We found it to be hot, tasty and there was always a wide range of choice. Waiters soon got to know what drinks you liked and kept them topped up.
The pools and gardens are very well kept. Yes the usual people got up early to reserve sun beds around the main pool in the 'prime spots' but there was never a problem getting a sun bed and there is plenty to go around at all times of the day.
We visited the square - it was an experience! Best to do this once the sun has gone down. Most days it was 40+ degrees. Didn't go on any other trips but heard good reviews of many of them, especially the quad biking.
We didn't really use the Thomson rep but he was always around to help people out. The staff at the hotel work tirelessly to ensure that you are well looked after. They actually want to help you - unlike places I have been in the past. Some reviews have mentioned things going missing. At no point in our holiday were we aware of this happening and in fact witnessed a waiter handing in a purse he had found in the restaurant to reception. Has anyone stopped to think that it may well have been a light fingered fellow guest instead of pointing fingers at the staff.
If I was returning to Morocco I would defiantly stay here again. My friend is already looking to return again soon.

Have returned recently after spending 10 great nights at the Medina Gardens.
We arrived late Monday evening and took at least 90 minutes to get through airport security strongly recommend having a bottle of water with you as there seemed to be no air con and was an uncomfortable wait.
On arrival at the hotel we were met by staff who took care of our luggage from the coach. We were given a cocktail and hand towel in the Reception area whilst we waited to collect our check in pack (containing keys, towel vouchers hotel info)- this only took minutes. The restaurant had been kept open for us and had salad, bread and cake available but we decided not to bother and to go and have a look at our room instead. On arriving at our room our luggage had been brought up and was waiting outside the door. The rooms are dominated by a huge bed, there are other pieces of furniture you would expect in a hotel room there are two carved large sliding doors which once open provide plenty of space to store clothes, your empty cases and also valuables in the safe. We had a balcony overlooking the pool we were woken at the beginning of our holiday at around 5.30am by the Mosque calling people to go pray but soon got use to it.We had no problem with noise from the pool bar the evening entertainment finished about 11pm.
Meals are buffet style in the main restaurant and have a great selection on offer to suit all tastes. I am not the most adventurous eater and found something different every night which I enjoyed from pasta dishes to chicken fahitas. I made a point of checking the temperature of my food - stirring dishes and looking for steam checking meat was thoroughly cooked etc and we had no problems. Have got to say how fantastic the puddings were! We visited the snack bar on a lunchtime which has a small all inclusive menu - pizza, salad or paninis,
The pool area is really clean and we managed to get sunbeds everyday although towards the end of our holiday the other guests had started placing their towels out earlier and earlier. The gardens are well maintained and there is an array of lemons, pomegranates or figs trees with fruit growing on them.
No matter what time of the day someone was always spotted cleaning we would go down to breakfast about 8.30 and would return to our bed been made, towels changed and the floors swept and mopped. The in-house photographer is one to watch, he takes lovely photos of guests in the hotel grounds which he then tries to sells at a variety of prices - no fixed price when I queried his prices which changed several times throughout our conversation he became agitated and deleted the photos he'd taken of us.
We found all the staff we had contact with very friendly, helpful and polite.
We probably wouldn't return to Marrakech as we fell we managed to pack into our holiday everything we wanted to experience - from haggling in the Souks to going camel trekking (was an experience I will never forget). The 10 nights we spent were thoroughly enjoyable thanks to the friends we have made, we have returned home with lots of great memories just a shame we hadn't booked to stay longer.

I'm going to be brutally honest, it was an ok hotel. I've been to hotels with the same rate of stars but the service was a hell of lot better. I suppose as it has only reopened this year, its is bound to have teething problems but coming home with sickness and diarrhoea was not something I was expecting and/or wanted. I think the place has great potential but there were a few things that niggled us...

- Cold food such as cheese and meat left out with no covering.

- Lack of service from waiters...i.e. find your own seat and guess whats on the drinks menu. There are no drinks menus how are we suppose to know what there is to drink?

- Paying for the all inclusive - a good £150 more than half board - but means that we get beer that tastes like nail varnish remover. Why did I pay extra money when the only choose of beer was the cheapest and nastiest tasting one and yet half board, although they had to pay there, got the choose of several beers that weren't cheap or nasty. What a joke!

- 'Chefs' making food to order but not checking its cooked through with a food thermometer so we end up with food that is raw in the centre.

- Lack of signs to where things are in the hotel. There is a building at the back of the grounds but how do we know it was a shop? There was not a sign on the building and we assumed it was part of the gym.

- Not being told how to get towels for the swimming pool. Information was not written down anywhere on the welcome sheet.

- Excursions were far too expensive for what they were...the walk around the 'gardens'. What garden? It was a gravel path leading to a big pond.

I would definitely come back to Marrakech but I wouldn't go back to Medina Gardens.

Looking for a relaxing break, bit of culture... Then look no further!

First tip - get a taxi 150-200 dirhams from the airport to the hotel - you'll beat the small delays waiting for everyone else. Also book rows 12 / 13 on the plane, you'll be first off and first through the problematic immigration.

Onto the hotel....

The hotel, the staff and the attention to detail that the hotel team give is exceptional. When arriving you will meet Imad, his level of customer service in not only a credit to this hotel, but to TUI, his levels of customer service is exceptional, we would primarily come back to this hotel because Imad is there.

The bedroom was very comfortable, but could do with a bedroom waste bin, and the removal of the table (as there isn't much space) - ours ended up in the balcony. Ideally a pack of local information would help (our neighbours in the hotels did not realise how close the souk was!)

The free wifi is helpful - and all over the hotel, good for checking tripadvisor for things to do (but you'll see lots of people constantly looking at their phones!

There are many theme nights - and festival of bubbles - work well, it gives the variation required. The food is good, and the Moroccan food is very nice.

But the biggest plus for this hotel is location, your I'm the centre of town, but feel as if your isolated AS ITS SO QUIET! Supermarket is just around the corner if you forgot anything, and in 10 mins your getting lost in he souks!

Couple of things to go for, 3rd floor high rooms give you excellent sunsets and it's quieter. Fall into the culture (including the prayer calls!) and accept it. Visit the Artisanal next door - great hand made items. Do the 4x4 and history tours. Drink the draft beer.

With respect to the band - new guys arrived in August... They are exceptional.

Note to Thomson - couples hotels were being used by families with kids aged 16.... But cheeky that!

Also this is about 80% british and 20% French hotel mix.

We expect this hotel to cost much more next year - this year feels like an introductory price following it's recent refurb.

We'll be back - perhaps for a 4 night break next time - 3 1/2hrs from the uk and no time difference - perfect.

Room Tip: 3rd floor city view for quiet - email the hotel before hand. Avoid the hot tubs, but at £50ish surch...
