Great news for the lads coming to the hotel. I am currently at the hotel 26-06-18 and the long trousers dress code in the restaurant has been relaxed. Sensible shorts are now acceptable....it's so hot...

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your last review. We give great importance to the well-being of our guests and we listen carefully to their suggestions. Reason why, we decided to relax the dress code and the sensible shorts are now acceptable in the restaurant.

Thank you for trusting Tui Sensimar Medina Gardens.

Kind regards.

We have just returned from this hotel and I feel I have to write a fair and honest revue .
Most other reviews have been very good, which is why we chose to go here.
Well here goes. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location right on a small beach, just big enough for 2 rows of sun chairs. Its outlook is fantastic, you can watch the boats or the swimmers but take water shoes because it's very pebbly in the water. There is never a problem getting a sunbed.

Outside the hotel are a couple of restaurants and a supermarket but the area seems very run down.

The staff here are very friendly and will try to do all they can to help. Eleni tried very hard to help us out as we did encounter problems.

You would probably be OK with the food if you didn't have any dietary requirements, but vegetarians or vegans have problems . They do not label the food adequately . I have a couple of very serious food allergys, and in the end I just didn't trust the food. We complained and were told that they would put more information on the dishes I.e ingredients , it didn't happen. Also they do not supply diet drinks apart from Diet Coke . This is meant to be a 5 star resort, and it certainly isn't . This is only the 2nd year that Tui have had this hotel and they need to put a lot right. Branded drinks are included in the package but very often they serve the cheap stuff, unless you take the drink back and demand what you have asked for that's what you get.

The swimming pool is a death trap, it's made from concrete , there are steps down into it that have not been marked and are difficult to see, and there are no hand rails, all this is evidently meant to be minimalist , but it's just plain dangerous. In the UK health and safety would not let this pool be used. In fact there is a real lack of handrail around this resort making it difficult for anyone with mobility problems, as there are lots of steps.
Our room was drab in the extreme, no pictures, no colour, no drawers. We had to live out of our suitcase . The bathroom was beyond a joke. No bath, no shower tray, just a grey concrete bunker, the water ran everywhere making it another dangerous area. Picture enclosed. The TUI rep really didn't want to know, when we left early she would not even arrange for the private transfer that we had paid for. Is this really what TUI is about, not good PR.

We have just got back from our holiday to Marrakech. Firstly, i would like to thank Tracey, the Guest Relations Manager as she was brilliant, always had time for you and very helpful if you needed to know anything - a true asset to the hotel. Also, the young lads who carried your cases to your rooms for you, Ahmed and the other lad (sorry cant remember his name), were always smiling and very friendly, two of the nicest members of staff for sure, the same cannot be said about the bar staff & waiters and the reception staff though. They were not polite and hardly ever smiled, and wouldnt acknowledge you were there half the time. We would sit outside near the reception area in the evening and the drinks waiters would walk straight past you without even asking if you would like a drink, yet there was quite a large group of french who were sitting next to us who got treated like 'royalty', drinks were offered all evening to them, it was like we were invisible or something, defineltley favoured the french over us brits!! Overall, the hotel decor was dated but it is due for a refurb soon, so should be ok once the work is done but we wouldnt go back as we never return to the same hotel twice. Marrakech souks are very busy, lots of hustle and bustle, and be prepared to get hassaled to buy all the time and watch out for the guys who claim to work in the hotel, who will try to get you to go with them to an argan oil shop, where they'll try and get you to buy stuff!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the car park are quiet

This hotel is so lovely. After reading some of the reviews on here me and my friends were a little bit worried about coming, but we had nothing but good experiences.
All the staff were really helpful, the food was very good and I’m quite a fussy eater so that’s saying something! I wouldn’t come here if you’re wanting a lot to do though, it’s definitely more of a relax and sunbathe kind of hotel. If it wasn’t for Rio one of the entertainment guys then we would have been quite bored! He really did make the holiday. Such a lovely, genuine and helpful guy. He’s really a credit to the hotel!
The position of the hotel is great, a 10 min walk from the souks which we visited a few times - definitely recommend going during the day and the night as they are very different. Overall this hotel was very nice, the rooms do need a bit of an update but nothing major really and certainly isn’t as bad as some people on here have made out. I would come back here no problem!
