This is the ultimate, elegant Marrakech evening. There is no sign outside, so get a guide or car service to take you there. And make a reservation. Yes, it is very much full of tourists, but forget about that - just go. It's $82 U.S. prix fixe (and that includes wine and Champagne! I don't know if they serve mixed drinks or not.). You are met at the front door and escorted upstairs to the rooftop for an amazing, sweeping view of the Medina / all of Marrakech. Then you are escorted downstairs to a "grand salon" space, with some nice live "cocktail music," and offered an aperitif (Champagne if you want it). Then you are escorted to your table. There is no menu - they just start bringing food. Ten different Moroccan salads (all delicious and fresh) and then two different tagines (chicken and lamb, I think) and a vegetable cous cous, and then dessert (this yummy baked phyllo dough thing with milk custard on top and cinnamon), and tea and tiny cookies. It's all great fun and the atmosphere is fantastic. You can head to the courtyard /pool area after dinner if you like for a nightcap. Great Marrakech evening with delicious food and fantastic service!

Too expensive for average food. The athmosphere was very nice, though.
You still end up thinking you have been ripped off - again- in Marrakesh.

Lovely atmosphere, but the food was average (and even frankly bad in one course - the chicken) and the price was the most expensive we paid in Marrakesh -Dirhams 70 per person.

This was a great experience. It costs a set amount including drinks (700 MAD pp). We started with a few drinks on the terrace, listening to music and the calls to prayer, then down to the lovely dining room where the many courses begin to arrive: a table-full of the warm vegetable salads and bread, whole chicken tagine, beef tagine and huge mound of couscous with vegetables, lovely dessert of layers of thin pastry with sweet sauce and finishing with tea/coffee and a five tier dish of pastries. We would have paced ourselves better if we had known the quantities involved. I only ended up eating a small amount of the beef, a token spoonful of couscous and as much of the dessert as I could – which was not enough! The service is very welcoming, smooth and well practised. Yes it is expensive for Marrakech, and the tagines are no better than other good restaurants, but it is a great evening and does include as much drink as you want.

Dar Yacout is beautiful. You step through the plainest of front doors, with no sign overhead announcing its existence, into a grand, old house with marvellous lanterns, gleaming marble pillars, richly coloured stained glass and waterfalls plunging into great alabaster bowls filled with rose petals. Shades of Tales from the Arabian Nights. It is a gorgeous place, and you should go for the whole experience rather than simply the food.
Like everyone else my partner and I went up to the roof terrace to admire the striking views of Marrakech towards the distant hills, before having pre-dinner drinks in the amazing room on the first floor, to the accompaniement of Moroccan music.
We were then escorted down to our table in the courtyard, which couldn't have been a more romantic setting. Waterfalls and ornamental pools, rose petals scattered across the tablecloths, the sun setting against pale apricot mortar and dancing against the dozens of tiny windows in the turret overlooking the courtyard.
There is no menu, the food simply starts to arrive. It is presented with great flare and flourish, all typical Moroccan dishes, which are tasty but nowhere near the best in Marrakech.
It is quite pricey but you are paying for the whole Dar Yacout experience, and is a very enjoyable evening.
