From the moment we arrived at the Riad our needs were pre-empted. Laurent gave us a very informative overview of things to do and where to go over some mint tea. The Riad itself was very relaxing and the traditional decor absolutely charming. We decided to have dinner twice at the Riad as it was so good. We felt that we had the best food here and also the best value for money. One or two other resaurants we tried were a bit of a rip off and frankly not very good. We decided to go on the Atlas mountain day trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this trip to others.
Although Laurent had to leave mid way through our trip, his good friend Antoine stepped in to help out the guests and he was an equally friendly chap. Breakfasts were fabulous with home made cakes and pastries and fruit served by the delightful ladies.

My daughter and myself a had a fantastic 4 night stay at this Riad. Laurent took the the time to explain where all the places of interest were and told us the best places to eat, he even took us to the main square on our first morning . All the staf f were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, the food was devine. Our treck to the Atlas mountains was brilliant. an experience not to be missed we even crossed the river on foot. Our room was very comfortable and just off the courtyard beautifully decorated typical morrocan style. The roof top area was very relaxing. It was my second visit to Marrakesh I love it theres just something about this place its amazing I have never seen anything quite like it before and only 3 hours away from home you just want to come back hope so I will be returning again

From the outset Laurent was friendly and welcoming, from emails beforehand to welcoming us into the riad with a drink, to taking us to the main square so we knew our way around.

The riad was lovely and peaceful, and sharing a table at breakfast makes it very sociable (but there is plenty of place to be alone if you want...) and the breakfast itself was delicious and varied.

The location is good - very quiet and you feel very safe. It is fairly close to the main square and it is eay to find other places like the Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Mosque.

As with any riad, the rooms all face into the courtyard and so some rooms (especially those on the ground floor) will be noisier than others. However I think that this is reflected in the price. Our room was fabulous - very bright and welcoming (colourful!) compared to other riads we stayed in Morocco.

I really can't recommend this Riad highly enough. Laurent and his staff were so welcoming and our room was beautiful. If this is your first trip to Marrakesh then Aguerzame is the perfect choice. It is well located in a more 'up market' part of the Medina, in a quiet corner but close to all the action. Laurent made it so easy for us with his 'classroom' session on our first morning and even took time to walk with us to the main square so that we wouldn't get too lost. All in all, a perfect place to say in Marrakesh.

We stayed for 3 nights with two small children aged 6 and 4 and we absolutely loved it. The rooms were beautiful and really in keeping with the Morrocan experience, Laurent goes out of his way to help you and his advice made the holiday even better, especially tips for dealing with local etiquette and where to eat. Though you must eat at least one night in the Riad as the food was fantastic, our 4 and 6 year old hoovered up the Morrocan food even trying and enjoying olives for the first time. ( the chocolate fondant with avocado ice cream was probably the best dessert I've ever had )

The location of the Riad is perfect as you just far enough from the square to enjoy the peace and quiet on the roof terrace, but close enough to be able to walk everywhere you need. We went to all the palaces and musuems within the medina, as well as the souks without needing to use transport at all, and that was with two pairs of little legs too. Don't worry about getting lost as that is part of the fun, however Laurents directions were so good we never did!

Would def recommend the Aguerzame to any one going to Marrakech and we hope to return soon as we still feel we have plenty to see.

Room Tip: Go there now!

This riad is wonderful and i could reccomend it highly enough. I was given some suggestions of where to stay but found this one on trip advisor and couldnt ignore all the amazing reviews so thought it was worth seeing what everyone is so excited about, and i wasnt dissapointed.
The riad is a fantastic location, s close to the square, but when u are inside its so quiet compared to the noise outside, it is clean, beautifuly decorated and Laurent is a host who clearly loves his job. He is so accomodating and will show u to the square, give u excellant suggestions for restuarants, local advice, especially the local kids trick of 'that road is closed sir'!! Well pointed out as they tried that a lot on us!!
The food there too is fantastic. Def take Laurent up on their home cooked 3 course meal as the food was the best we had over out whole stay in Morocco. Oh and the chocolate pudding with warm strawberries.....yum!
All in all Morocco is a great place to visit...the atlas mountains are great for a hike, the sahara desert is wonderful and the noise and chaos of Marrakesh is great for a change from home!
So, to round up, if u are on trip advisor looking for somewhere to stay, u want location, quality and wonderful staff and great food then its all here in this riad!
Thanks so much Riad Aguerzame :)

This is now our 6th visit to Marrakech and we have stayed in various riads in the Medina. One thing we can say for sure is that up until now, none beat Riad Aguerzame for freindly and attentive staff and value for money. Laurent is the perfect host and nothing is too much trouble.
As this was not our first visit to Marrakech, we decided to take a 'petit taxi' from the airport to the riad (they take maximum 3 persons - over 3, you need to take a 'grand taxi' which costs more). After at least 5 minutes of hard bargaining and 'threatening' to take the local bus (cost 20 dirhams per person - goes to the main square Jemaa el Fna), we managed to agree on a price of 60 dirhams. We thought this was a pretty good deal - until the taxi driver dropped us off at a square a few hundred meters from the riad. Luckily we knew the area and only had hand luggage so it was not a problem, but for first time visitors, we would highly recommend taking the transport organized by the riad so you will be taken to the door without the fear of getting lost down the many surrounding alleyways.
We had a lovely relaxing first eveing at the riad and enjoyed a glass of wine with Laurent in the lounge overlooking the courtyard. Our room with a four-poster bed was on the first floor and decorated in typical Moroccan style which we love. Apart from some noise out in the alleys of children playing and the odd moped during the evening, the riad was amazingly quiet.
The main square is only a ten-minute walk from the riad and, compared to other riads where we have stayed, is relatively easy to find in the dark!
We are already missing the warm temperatures, wonderful hospitality, mint tea and even the souks (bargain hard by the way!) and wondering if we can fit in a return trip in the autumn - inshallah :)
