“Avoid like the plague!”

This place is horrible - the service is the worst my husband and I have ever encountered (and we travel frequently!). Their credit card machine at this supposed riad wasn't working - we tried 4 different cards which we were using without any trouble all over Morocco - and the lady accused us of having bad credit. We then told her we would pay later before leaving the next morning. When we come back after dinner later that night this lady starts yelling at us saying she has been waiting for us to pay for 3 hours and she hasn't been able to go home because we were out. We try to talk to her calmly telling her we will pay now and she tells again that it's not her job to wait for us. Two more random men from the hotel join in this drama now and they are all yelling that it's not their job to wait for us - the woman starts yelling at us as to why we are late coming back. In what world is it anyone in the hotels business when we go in or out??? She then tells us to pack our bags and leave. Its way past midnight now and with no other option we are forced to pay and bear with it. We spent the 3 days prior to this stay at hotel kniza next door and only had to leave because they were booked up. Crazily enough this hotel has similar prices to kniza but after the heavenly oasis that kniza was this was absolute hell.

We stayed in the this riad for one week. At first sight everthing was perfect. The ppl who run it are very friendly and helpfull.

The room had its own hammam which was great. Unfortunatly we had 2 windows facing the town and hence the room was quite noisy. After 3 days we had a leacking airconditioning system and even after telling them, nothing happend. The dripping was a bit annoying.

On the other hand, breakfast was really good. Rooms have a nice furniture and are very clean.

It's an average place to stay but no paradise.

We stayed in this lovely riad for 3 nights. On arrival we were warmly greeted and offered tea. The riad is beautiful and has been lovingly restored by its owners. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, including a lovely roof terrace. It is in the heart of the medina but incredibly quiet. I am a light sleeper but only heard the call to prayer once. The breakfast is very good and substantial. The owners and staff were on hand, and very friendly. Our room was overlooking the courtyard but very quiet. A very good stay.

Surprise 2 night stay for my wife's birthday. Lovely welcome from French owners with tea and sweets. Ground floor bedroom (no problem with noise) with traditional Moroccan furniture, very comfortable. Power failure during first evening did not prevent the staff serving a very nice meal, by candle light. All food was beautifully presented. Owners had recently increased accommodation to 15 rooms and turned the smallish indoor pool into an aquarium. Not a problem, but some brochures/sites my not be up to date! Overall - we were sorry we did not stay longer!

We have had a wonderful time in Riad Armelle. It's like staying in an Arabic palace. Such beautiful ornaments: doors, lamps, beds etc..
The management and all the others are very friendly and helpful.
We slept very well, despite the call for prayer at 5 am, it's quite nearby, so take earplugs with you if you wake up easy.
The Riad is near Bab Doukkkala, one of the entrances to the medina. So you are near the Ville Nouvelle, while staying in the medina. The taxi can park in the neighbourhood.
They can arrange a pick-up from the airport, that will cost 15€, or the equivalent in Dirham.
We arrived late, because our plane was too late. Unfortunately they didn't have any food or thé de menthe left. But they arranged some bread with vegetables and egg.
You can get all kinds of alcohol, not cheap, but sometimes you really long for a beer!
We eat here once, but were not too enthousiastic about it.
There are a lot of very good restaurants in Marrakech, from very cheap to European prices.
We eat very well at Terrasse d'Epices, and had a nice lunch at Les Epotes in La Nouvelle Ville. The first is hard to find and no alcohol, but a roofterrace with nice view. The second in a garden with alcohol.
Ofcourse you have to visit El Bahia Palace and Jardin Majorelle. And shopping in the souks.
We also went to a hamam: hamam de l' Alhambra. Very clean. But the hamam is not a real hamam. You are treated in a small misty hot room. Hair washed, once soap and a scrub all over.
I expected much more of it. The massage was ok. Also not so special. Next time I will try another one.
Marrakech is a safe town, also with 2 women, no problem at all.
But in Marrakech I will sure come back!

This is a beautiful and tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. The French owners, Armelle and Serge, have done an amazing job decorating the Riad making each room unique. All the staff were very friendly and provided great service. We initially stayed in the Indian Nights room (room 1) which is very attractively decorated but opens on to an inner courtyards that doubles as guest seating area. We then moved to the more tranquil room 15 accessed from the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed both rooms.

The riad has nice decorated rooms. People are very helpful and kind. The food is good but much too expensive. Every tea you get has to be payed. Breakfast on the other hand is great.

We had the room " La perle de l orient" with hammam. Very nice, The air conditioning was leaking and even after telling them it was not repaired during our stay. No problem for us but a problem for the furniture sooner or later. The room is quite noisy because there are two windows towards the street.

Be aware that the riad has no pool as you coud think from pictures on the website.
The riad has a perfect location. 10 minutes walk from "la place" and 15 minutes walk from the "Marrakesh Plaza"

I am quite sure that there are better riads but it was ok. I am sure that I will return to Marrakesh but not to this Riad.
