Me and my husband are both from Morocco, his family are from Meknes. We had a small family wedding and decided to spend our wedding night in Hotel Zaki. Before leaving from the UK i looked up hotel zaki on the net for reviews. I heard a lot of bad comments and was worried this was a special occassion and i wanted good service, and a good room and bit of special treatment.
We couldnt find any other hotels in meknes that were special enough for this occassion. So we decided to go ahead and make a reservation. When i got to Morocco me and fiance visited the hotel. AND OMG... i have to say it was nothing like i had expected. Yes you will get the odd rude desk person and some staff. But this is morocco and in morocco we dont have rules and regualtions to make sure customer is always right, customer care and customer service. So i didnt care about that really.
The lobby is amazing with a beautiful entrance, the man at the desk was helpful and gave us discount straight away once he knew we were going to be married. he booked us into a suite which was top-notch. Was very honeymoon suite like. neutral decor, with cream bedding, white bathroom suite. Lovely airy and spacious. Very Very clean. We bumped into the room attendents while viewing the room and she was a lovely old lady, we told her we were newly weds and she made up the room extra nice for us. We payed roughly £28 for the night, no breakfast as we had a family breakfast out.
When we arrived that night the usual zeffa, all family n guests, music and lots of photos taken in the lobby. Our overnight bags were taken to the room. Our room was prepared beautifully... petals on the bed, fresh towels, gowns, slippers, fresh bed (i can tell) and lovely lighting.
Its halls are beautifully decorated, with balconys for most rooms overlooking garden and pool. I wish we stayed more nights as it is so quiet and such a chill out and relax hotel. I loved it and i would want to go back again.
The staff were all nice to us, especially once finding out we were newly married.
Brilliant decor, colour, lighten throughout the hotel. A real GEM in meknes.
It was so nice that my brother and sister inlaw (also newly weds) decided to change hotels. They loved the place so much!!
Not 5 stars as breakfast was expensive and from what we were told not adequate and over priced. So your better off eating out as we did.

If your going to Meknes to enjoy the culture and get away from "technology" this place is a dream. but if you really want internet, wifi and all that you shouldnt opt for Hotel Zaki.

In my opinion and husbands, and all our wedding guests, hotel Zaki is sofisticated and is a 4* hotel without a doubt.

Room Tip: Ask to see the rooms, and specify to the staff what you would like, if its for a special occassion tell them.

I stayed at this hotel with some apprehension because of the numerous negative reviews on TripAdvisor. All in all, however, it was fine. From the outside it looks larger, more modern, and more western than any of the other three hotels where we stayed in Morocco. It has a nice garden and swimming pool, large, bright rooms with spacious bathrooms, bigger TVs, a restaurant, etc. Continental food in the restaurant was quite good. But I can see where the negative reviews come from: when you look closer, the place is definitely frayed around the edges. E.g., locking mechanisms on the bathroom doors were missing; the internet worked well the first day but stopped working on the second day (we were able to get a connection only by going out in the garden); the restaurant was supposed to be open for lunch but nobody was there. The main negative was the service: at all times I felt that the personnel was focused exclusively on milking money out of guests—not at all on serving them. They were curt and not very helpful, but were always trying to sell you something or get a tip out of you. Still, if you’re tired of cramped rooms or traditional food that your stomach can’t deal with, this hotel will provide you with a reasonably comfortable, more “western” stay that might be just what you need at some point in your Moroccan stay. I would consider staying here again.

Just returned from Morroco this July and there wasnt too much information on the web about this hotel apart from Tripadvisor.
A family memebr was getting married in Meknes, and the brides family have a home there, so they reccomended Zaki,
We went as a group of 20-30 people and we had a lot of fun.
The pool is wonderful, there are numerous bars and clubs in the hotel all far away from rooms so you dont even hear the music. The decor is amazing.
the service however isnt the best, it became a little frustrating at times especially trying to get any more than 2 towels day.
They DO NOT GIVE YOU towels for the pool so you'll have to take 1 from the room however they do not replace this until the next day, so we had to sneak in som extra towels whilst the ladies werent looking.
However they are very friendly, giving hugs and quite chatty, even though my french is passable.
I really didnt eat at the hotel but a lot of my friends ate the chicken sandwich which came with fries and that was about 70 dirhams
the local bear- SPECIAL- was great that was also 70 dirhams
all in all Meknes was quite cheap our Dollar went a long way.
Because the hotel has numerous bars and a big club- it gets quite a crowd everynight so you can dance to the cheesy music in the clubs after a few drinks.
I dont think id go to meknes again as there wasnt to much to do but if i did I would stay there again:-)
