Lovely blue and white little streets .Unfortunately we left it until the evening to visit ,and the local police seemed to be stopping people going to the end viewpoint. However we slipped through with a local to see a great sunset.
Also some of the streets were rather dimly lit by the time that we were leaving. We wished that we had spent more time there during the day.

Cannot recall too much of our guide's description in this area. One of our group had her hand grabbed and "hennaed" before she could pull it away. It was a rainy day so this may color my opinion

We teased ourselves for a few days by visiting other attractions in the area, but when we finally crossed the threshold into the Kasbah we were blown away by the combination of blue and white. What makes it so special is that each house seems to have its own shade of blue, ranging from turquoise to indigo.

The whitewash, the roar of the Atlantic rollers, the surfers on the beach below, the peninsula, and the cry of gulls, all create an affinity with St Ives. However, whereas that town, being full of empty second or holiday homes, has lost much of its identity and charm, this Kasbah seems so far managed to have retained its integrity. It is not a 'pretty-pretty' site for the tourists, but a place where people live. Long may it be so!

The Andalusian Gardens are well worth a visit, providing a welcome oasis of greenery.

Two tips:
1) Avoid the cafe; we were so disappointed with it, and didn't like its feel, so we left after a minute, and returned to the Blue Berry on the prom.
2) Beware of the guides who hover near the Oudaya Gate. One, through his persistent hassling only succeeded to drive away a party of three women. We found it best to avoid any eye contact, and to ignore them completely, walking with a sense of purpose. They soon gave up on us.

good views over the port and coast. Lovely to wander through the blue and white streets and for under a £1 to visit the museum. the cafe sells awful coffee, and expensive, but gorgeous cakes. But if you want cakes - buy them from the 'patissiers' in the souks - look for the hygienically tiled ones. - 4 for under a £1

It is unthinkable to see a place with these houses and small streets and passages in Africa without having the association with some slum. When it comes to sit and drink coffee and tea, you feel the touristic nature of it.
