“less hectic compared to Marrakech”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

The Medina of Rabat is not as hectic/touristic as the one in Marrakech. It is easy to find your way around and people are not so pushy.

“Change your mind about Medina shopping”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

If you have ever shopped in the large medinas of Fes, Marrakesh, Casa then you will be well aware of the hassle it can be. Rabat medina is totally different. It is a pleasure to walk through, and hard to get lost in and mostly you feel safe and secure (but use your common sense) Side by side with the tourist souk is the ordinary medina where the Rabati's come to shop. It is authentic and I love it because your "no thanks" is quickly accepted.

“Non-aggressive sales!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

The Medina in Rabat is much more gentle than those of Fes or Marrakech. Much of it is where local people do their shopping and it can get very crowded. The tourist part is easy to navigate, with pleasant non-pushy shopkeepers who are happy to take "no" for an answer. Their starting prices are also much more realistic than in Marrakech, for example and bartering is good-natured.

“Interesting, but not very tipical.”

We walked inside the market with the tour guide. It's interesting to see the local people, but is very crowded and with a lot of chinese products.
