The location was alright, it was clean enough, service ok but not a hotel to spend too much time in. The staff was giving us a horrible time about a man and woman staying together but it's like that at a lot of places around there although they were quite rude about it.

My favorite part of the hotel was the roof where there was a pool but nobody was there so it was peaceful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but it's alright if you just need a place to sleep and get a good deal.

The hotel was clean, the service was reasonable, it had free Wi-Fi (which was not advertised on their site!), food was above average, their fitness center was well equipped. Overall, a good place for a family to stay.

I usually stayed at sofitel when i come to rabat. It was full so i thought of golden as an option. It took me 2hours to check in, 1 hour for my.luggage to get to my room-which smelled horrible and was waaay too noisy. Second day 300 euros were stolen out of my wallet in my suitcase. I had dinner one night at the hotel with a couple of friends for almsot 200 dollars the food was poor cold. The hotel team is not specially friendly. So to me it is not a place i would ever go back to.

I was sceptical when reading other's reviews about this hotel, but since this is the hotel booked by our host so I have no choice but to accept.

But my worries proved to be wrong. They have friendly staffs and clean environment. Foods in the restaurant are okay although not excellent and not much varieties. WiFi was slow and weak in the guest room but strong in conference room and lobby area. French is commonly spoken but most staff speaks basic English.

My room was facing car park, no fancy views, but I am here for not for that reason so no complain. Overall, if you are looking for simple bed and breakfast place, this hotel is okay.

The Golden Tulip is a fine place to stay. Comfortable rooms. Convenient location across from the Tour Hassan and very near the Medina. There was a bit of a smell of mold, and some tiny roaches in our bathroom, but it's hard to expect perfection. One annoyance was the key card becoming demagnetized easily. But the staff was helpful, and spoke English well enough.

During one of my many trip to Rabat, i stayed in this hotel for 1 week.
When i arrived, my reservation was cancelled even if we booked it via AMEX.
Hopefully a colleage was already there and we could share his room by ASKING a spare bed.
I put asking in upcase as the manager didnt offer this possibility and just let me know that he had no solution , not his fault, ..nothing was in the system..etc etc .. I just suffered from Overbooking.
The day after i get upgrade to a Suite.
The suite was confy but very very old fashion, with an old TV, spa in the bathroom worked only once.
Food from the room service was not good and the cleaning of the room was not done (taking back the plates, cleaning tables, .. kind of service you expect in any hotel with 5 stars.

Food from breakfast and dinner: we had some doubts about the orange juice and the food in general. It didnt look fresh and wasnt quality.

Good points : swimming pool, the terrasse and the bar on the top of the building. very nice view on the habour, marina and closed to the medina and airport.
Bad points : on top of the very poor service as explained above, the hotel is located on very busy place... windows are not good enough to stop the noise of horns and klaxons of the cars + tramways ... It is a bit expensive compared to the service and the quality of the food.

Bottom line: it deserves 4 stars for because there is a swimming pool but not more because of poor service.

Room Tip: up to you : if you want a view on a marina but it will be a noisy room or a room on the back of the...

Our group were upgraded to this hotel by the tour operator for some reason not explained. They called it 5-star! I would not go that far but it was certainly better than our hotels in Fes and Marakesh! Nice double room with good facilities. The restaurant buffet for dinner and breakfast was pretty good - food hot and a reasonable choice.
