After spending 2 weeks here last summer we returned for another 2 weeks with our 2 year old. We didn't leave the hotel much as purposefully wanted a sun/pool/relaxing holiday and the hotel is great for young kids. The pool is lovely and spacious with lots of interesting features to keep kids busy and a nice sized baby pool. There is also a playground near the pool which our son loved. As it was ramadam a lot of the usual pool side bbq/bars weren't open but the poolside restaurant served great food every day and had high chairs. The staff were great with kids and generally the Moroccans are very warm towards children which makes it an easy place to come to with young kids. If you're looking for an easy holiday with young kids then this is a great hotel to choose from as the rooms are spacious enough to fit a cot, have balconies and everything is very child friendly. The beds are very comfy, bath is nice and big, shower is powerful (but as others have indicated you have to be very short to fit under shower head, but I believe this should be renovated soon). Just wish it was sunny in the winter so that it could be a winter sun destination!

We stayed in this hotel with our three children (aged 3 months, 2 years and 5 years) and had a truly relaxing time. We chose this time of year for the weather and the fact that the hotel would be relatively quieter over the month of Ramadan.

Our rooms were clean and very spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for the children (e.g. 2 smaller beds, a travel cot, great air conditioning for the baby). The shower was powerful, and just what was needed after a day by the pool or on the beach! The two older children thoroughly enjoyed the pool and went swimming everyday, often twice. The water was clean and a great temperature, and the baby pool is nice and big. The pool staff were attentive, and couldn't have done more to help us find sunbeds and umbrellas etc. We also enjoyed the children's playground in the grassy area by the pool, and the sandy beach. The hotel is very child-friendly and there were quite a few families whilst we were there. We ate in the Moroccan restaurant (in the evening), the buffet by the pool and had room service. The food was excellent. We had a stunning view of the pool, bay and sea from our rooms and enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony. On clear days we could see Spain. We went to the medina a couple of times and it was only a short journey by taxi. We all had a wonderful holiday and were sad to leave after 2 weeks.

Went to Tanger for a relaxing weekend, though im not sure if it the city is ideal for relaxation, since everyone tries to take advantage of you.
I think the movenpick is supposed to be the best hotel in town. The facilities were impressively nice. Services though were not at all what you would expect from a swiss hotel company.

For starters, Even though I had a reservation for a room with a pool view, I got sent to the back of the hotel facing the parking lot (still got billed for a pool view room).
Since it was Ramadan, we had to wait at the lobby for a while before a taxi could pick us up for dinner. I decided to have a glass of wine and it has to be the worse glass of white wine I ever had in my life. undrinkable, I am sure they added water to it to make the wine last longer.
Making reservations was also another challenge. The hotel has a full time concierge which seems to be the only person capable of picking up a phone to call a restaurant. At a given moment he was not there and I had to wait 5 minutes untill he showed up as the recepcionists refused to make any calls for us, even though the reception was empty. Even with the concierge it was quite hard to get restaurants. He had no clue whatsoever on where to indicate us. Even when we suggested some popular restaurants in town, he did not have the number, we had to look on our own on the little magazine guide that they oferred at reception. If one restaurant would not answer or was closed, I would have to insist for a while to get him to call somewhere else.

All in all, its just a nice pool and a comfortable room for morrocan standards. Its hard to relax though when you end up so stressed on a constant basis by the level of service offered.

I have stayed there for 2 days, it is like 4 star resort, there is no carpet in the rooms, everything was basic as if you went there for using pool. They overcharge for the breakfast .We have paid euro130[er night+euro 36 for breakfast, it is definately not worthed at all. Rooms are noisy.Wifi is not free (not even in the loby!) Compering price and quality, they failed..

Great hotel in a great locaton - within walking distance from the Playa where you can find most of the popular coffee shops and restaurants. Friendly staff when spoken to. Pool is nice although there is a beach right outside the hotel, however this isnt the best beach in Tangier, more for the locals than anything and myself being Moroccan please be advised not to take any valuables down there with you. Casino is worth a look into as well they give you a complementary 200 Dirhams to play with for staying with them it works out to approx £15 GBP. Overall no bad things to say about this place - it was comfy, good views and great fun.

Room Tip: Ask for sea views

We spent just over a week here and especially enjoyed the superb pool and well equiped gym with the best personal trainerI have come across!
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable although the decor takes some getting used to. Beware of the low shower head! If you reserve in advance, ask for a room overlooking the pool which has magnificent views over the bay and town.
The food was tasty and breakfast on the terrace fantastic. The Moroccan restaurant is well worth a visit if you are into that.
We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool.

I stayed at the Movenpick in mid-June 2011 with my girlfriend. The first thing I noticed was the great view of Tangier and the Mediterranean. The beds were comfortable, food was good and the pool was clean and easy to find a chair. Complimentary breakfast buffet was great (not your typical moroccan pancakes, jam and toast--this has fresh fruit, lox, etc.)
Cons: you have to pay for wifi access, (if you are paying this much for a room it should be free in my opinion), there's no hot tub! Bummer, but not essential. The bathrooms were nice, with hot water and freakishly strong water pressure. I would stay here again, but if I wanted to explore Tangier and the medina I might try and find a place closer to the city. Definitely a great getaway.
