“Reliable, well placed reasonably priced hotel in Tangiers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

I have stayed here several times on overnight stops in Tangiers. Nice staff, great location, rooms OK for the money and city, I would recommend highly if visiting Tangiers and you don't want anything low end or want to spend a lot of money. Easy walk from the ferry terminal from Tarifa. Nicely close to the old town for sights etc, in the new town for bars, restaurants, etc. hotel bar has no atmosphere but is OK, breakfast is continental style and fine for Morocco but I would be disappointed if in a European City. Rooms a bit tired but serviceable, good value for £35 paid for B and B.

Short walk to Al Minzah hotel if you want a nice piano bar and don't mind £12 cocktails, plenty decent restaurants nearby. There are so many hotels in town with very variable quality and pricing. Rembrandt is a nice safe option.

The hotel is located ideally and is well accessible. The first thing that impressed me was the friendly staff. The service is good and so is the wi-fi. The swimming pool (PISCINE) is beautiful too, however the rest of the hotel needs some serious upgrading. It appears the hotel management is not too keen on putting more money into the hotel and it is just running the way it is since it was built. The restaurant hygiene leaves room for improvement. The bar next to the restaurant is probably not an ideal location but again that's just my opinion. The front lobby is sometimes left unattended, but again i wouldn't complain about it given the friendly nature of the staff. But when it comes to rating a hotel i guess it counts. Overall an ok hotel and i was glad my stay was brief. I was on an official trip and so it was ok, but i would never spend on my own to stay there.

Stayed in Sept 13 with a friend. Basic but clean rooms. Interesting building. Good, friendly service. Good breakfast. Negative: Had troubles confirming reservation - never replied to our emails informing of late arrival, despite sending several emails. Had to call in the end when we arrived in Morocco.

I have stayed at The Rembrandt about six times over the past 30 years and it remains a favourite. Well positioned for the new and old parts of town, it has a little pool, a pleasant garden and some fine views toward the harbour and port.

If we're only talking about bed and breakfast and using the bar, it is a good hotel and I'd happily give it 4 to 5 blobs or stars. In all my stays there has always been some item or other that falls off the bedroom or bathroom wall, but that is just a source of amusement - it is very comfortable nonetheless.

My one and only negative experience was in choosing to eat in the restaurant on my second evening - simply because I was very tired and wanted to be in the hotel. Service in Morocco is often either full on, or full off. The service that evening was almost non-existent and I was held hostage to an Elton John track that got stuck after 40 seconds and replayed incessantly. I got it turned off, but maybe the lack of music added to the somnolence to the dining room - I was by then the only diner - and then the service was aborted. So I gave up and left without finishing dinner (but was still charged for 3 courses the next day, despite explaining all that had and hadn't occurred!). A shame because what was provided to eat was very good.

So, I would still recommend for B&B - and maybe treat yourself to a sea view as the street facing rooms are a little noisy, unless you opt to close yourself in with the air-con on.

Stayed there for one night, the room was good and spacious and the location was great for the price.
The service was okay.
The windows of the room does not have a good view however the lobby and swimming pool were good

We visited Tangier for a day to explore the city. Upon arrival we were unhappy by the large number of "tourist guides" beware who wanted to show us around.
We decided on a hotel that was in the more modern part of town and that had a vintage decadence and flair to it. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were ok, unfortunately, we had to demand a change of rooms due to the fact that smoking is allowed in rooms despite being forbidden by law and they offered us a glade spray to disguise the smell. When we said we are out of here, then they changed us to a nice room.

Room Tip: beware of tourist guides

We stayed at this hotel in Tangiers for two nights. It was a nice, no nonsense hotel at a decent price. The pool was nice, and the wifi was fine. The breakfasts left something to be desired, but that didn't put a big damper on our visit. A solid choice.
