Well located for the Medina a 10 min walk.Staff very friendly and helpful. Large hotel but very very tired. Water in the bath was orange with rust, sink in our friends room was hanging off the wall. No hairdryers as advertised. Beds clean. TVs being updated to flat screen in some rooms. Safe deposit available at reception with no charge. Reasonable breakfast, no sign of the lady in national dress cooking pancakes as remarked on by other reviewers.
If thinking of travelling around the 7th 8th and 9th November everything is closed due to the fete du mutton a very religious holiday.

My first trip to Morocco was back in 1984,then again in 1991 in the same hotel "Chellah."How can anyone criticise this wonderful country,it's friendly people and the spotlessly clean hotel....not to mention the lovely food...perfect.
However i am on about going again,if not this year then the next to the same hotel, and hopefully,to see the same photographer who had recognised me previously.Sorry but i have forgotten his name...but never his friendly face.
Visit the Medina is a must, and its easy to get there on foot, although it is quite a way.Just make sure you know how to get out of the market..it's easy when you know the secret.Moroccan night is fantastic but be prepared to tip up on every act.Theres a great little cheap bar called the Juan -de-argo just down the road,it may be rough but its very welcoming, but if you carry on right to the end of the road..the big hotel where Humphrey Bogart and Sir Winston Churchill stayed..they have a fantastic night club. Its well worth just getting around on foot to discover things for yourself....quite interesting and, please don't be afraid to talk to the locals..you can learn quite a lot from these lovely people......especially the night watchmen on every street corner.Although it may have changed from when i was there all those years ago...i still love the place and its culture, and so different.

Very nice room, very clean bathroom and lingerie, all cleaned èvery day.
Beautiful interior, superstaff! Also the location is perfect to visit all sites of Tanger.
So we were really satisfied with our stay and recommend you to go!

Positive aspects: Friendly staff, good gardens and a clean swimming pool, wonderful breakfast (including ready-made omelettes and typical Moroccan "pancakes" cooked in location by a woman in traditional dress and using a traditional griddle), crispy clean linen and towels, good beds and very convenient for the Medina (10 min walking).
Negative aspects: A little bit neglected furniture and bathroom -but this one clean-, some dust on the tv (but nothing serious), an odd smell in the corridor (maybe due to the carpet cleaning system) and a bit noisy at early morning (7 o'clock)
I must say that I paid 75€ pp for the boat trip ticket (Tarifa-Tangier and back), harbour-hotel transfers and two hotel nights including breakfast (tour operator "Luxotour")... so... Who could ask for anything more?
